well first of all, you are going to have to have a car set up for top end, cause that IS supra territory. Rolls are for *****'s and that a real race is from a dig. A 422 is nice and being it force induced, that would make it even better. if you could afford a C5-R block, and strap a nice twin T-88 setup or even one big mamma jamma like a t-95 or even a crazier t-106 turbo, that would be nuts, but the fuel setup and tuning would be RIDICULOUS. i am not even sure how long a regular ls1/6 block 422 on F/I or a huge shot will last. my advice is what i stated above, but also write an email to some of the sponsors and tell them what you want to build. If you got the bank to pay for this, then do it. if not, then he has got you beat from a roll for a while!

If you have the money i would go with a 454 crate engine and a twin turbo setup with alchol injection and all bolt-ons there is availible and of course a good tune....

invite him to do 0-100.

you can stay stock ci and pump out 800rwhp, which is enough to take him since you will be making about 1000rwtq.

I'd go with a big shot of nitrous and run him from a dig. I think a stock Neon can beat a 900rwhp Supra from a dig. He wants to run you from a roll because that is all Supras are good for.

YEAH, race him from a dig and if you can build up your Vette to around 500 horse you got a shot. Also race him when its really hot outside, should hurt him more than you. If that fails call Callaway and buy the twin turbo setup.

The fact that you are considering racing him means you have a baddass car. Congrats, and be careful if you decide to roll 60-160

He's got it. Just keep telling him that a roll is not a real race, and bring him down to the track. 900,000rwhp supra = mid 11's.

but guys if the man has his car setup for the quarter, which i highly doubt, it could be a beast. some Supras with the ford nine in the back and the TH350 for switching gears, they can get the cars to run VERY VERY well!

Check out the MTI 427ci package.
That with some spray and you've got a contendor.
It won't make 900hp, but will make a good race.

I'd go with a healthy shot of n2o. If you loose, oh well. I'd also try to run him from a dig as well as a roll.

A great plan would be that MTI 427 with either a large turbo (beat him with his own weapon) or a big shot of nitrous. I wouldn't go the S/C'r route.

Dude.......if he got a C5-R block with twin T88's, you might as well call the president and tell them everyone on planet earth is going to die.......

Because that car will suck up the earth's atmosphere and there will be no oxygen for us humans to breathe.

Seriously though he doesn't need a super de duper C5R with twin T88s. He needs a 408ci iron block with twin PT70's. Check out the FI board, there is a guy there with the same setup, built with the help of MTI. He has 408ci of LS1 iron block power with two T66's and is making over 1000RWHP on C16 race fuel. On 13.5 PSI of boost.

trade the high compression for twin turbos, and a huge intercooler. get a TPI setup and you're sure to find some ways to get the air there. that should be good for over 1200hp- easy.

If he wanted to go from 60-160, that means he's probably a slug from 0-60(and no, not all are). Going from a roll is perfectly fine when you happen to come up along side somebody on the road during your sunday afternoon cruise, but for pete's sake, if it's a set up race, make him go from a dig.

Give us some info on his car, tranny, turbo, cams, nitrous, etc.

the on ly reason i say TPI is because it can be made to flow very well and EFI is better for F/I setups IMO

With 900hp it should run 9's. I would find out what it can do at the track and build from there.
