They have ran the same times bone stock at tracks. And both have ranged in ET's across the country. It looks to be more of a drivers race then anything.
Reading comprehension check: you do realize that you just stated that the 5.0 if it was stock would still pull the SRT8 right? In other words, a 5.0 doesn't gain anything from a tune?

No I said the cold air don't do crap. The tune does. Tunes have shown to gain about 10-25whp in real world testing. Some have tried the base dyno with 87 octane and then 93 octane tune to show their tunes give 40whp but that is just BS.

Stock for stock its going to be a drivers race. Each car having an advantage. Weight to the mustang and Power to the Charger. Not knowing what gears was in this particular mustang could change things some also. Also what trim level the mustang is. BAse weight about 3550 loaded weighs close 3800 depending on options. Also who's tune? A Bama tune is basically worthless compared to a Lund tune or a dyno tune.

well theres no doubt the new SRT will kill a SS or 5.0 if they are stock. Ihave a feeling a bolton SRT will be on top unless the SS and 5.0 are full bolt on and light.

I can't wait to see the price of a used 2011-12 SRT charger in a year or 2... if good enough I will start looking into them to purchase! Of course if I get a better price on a used 2009+ CTS-V then that's my first choice...

I tried to race a challenger SRT 392 last night but the guy didnt want to at all. With me its either or ill get someone that just does something stupid to race me or ill keep up with someone for a while maybe downshift it and look over to see if he wants to go and nothing. I dont like cutting people off and getting in front of them or honking the horn bs to get a race and look desperate but it would be nice to go up against one of these even if i lose.

Well lets just put it like this the 2011 Challenger 392 retailed for 48K at almost every dealer lot new. You can now find them for 36-39K with around 5,000-10,000 miles so based on that Im going to wait a year until I decide on getting one. There is also a confirmed option for a supercharged 392 in the 2013 line up.

knocking on the door of 11's with no tune available is pretty impressive. Just found this today 12.55@112 bone stock 300 SRT8 I would imagine that this will be an average time run by the average driver. Low 12's in great conditions

Once again I'm not impressed with the 5.0

The SRT on the other hand is badass.

The SRT8 is impressive for its weight. I think GM could learn a few things. But how is the 5.0 not? It won and what with a tune it pulled down low and up top. Now we need see a true stock to stock NiteriderWS6 see if your buddy can get the 5.0 to stock and run them.

No way i dont beleive it, Ohioborn80 trying to be humble and with an open perspective!
Also that 5.0 going 9's n/a is impressive. i saw that it was 3000lbs with driver, what did they do to get it so light. Thats what about 600+ of wieght reduction.

Give me an auto, converter, headers and a tune when they can do it and watch a Challenger run 10s with stock rims and weight.

Wow, a supercharged charger 392 is gonna be dodges answer to the CTS-V2 and everything from merc and bmw... I'm guessing that would make it a mid to low 11 second sedan... very nice!

No, with all the crazy times people are claiming. A tuned and intake 5.0 is supposed to be a high 11 car according to the everything I hear from our favorite 5.0 owner yet a stock 4000+ lbs. car hangs with it from a roll. An auto, bone stock sedan at that. No way it's an 11 second car. The 5.0 is a nice performing car, I would say with intake and tune you're looking at mid 12s. I'm more impressed with the SRT honestly. The 5.0 is ok for what it is but I still think it's over rated by performance shops that claim ridiculous times.

I can see where your coming from. If someone were to just base their opinion off the forum 5.0 times and shop times no one would ever race them. Based on the boards a CAI, tuned 5.0 should run 11's like you said. In real life I have seen 12.5-12.8 with those mods.
