Default gto vs R1, gto vs DSM vid inside

So I had the chance to run a modded 09 R1. It was from a 50 to 140ish. I had 3 cars and the hit, and he came around me somewhere north of 130. I am sure I can surprise the hell out of an older stock liter bike.

The first race was another DSM that I ran, do you guys think this was motor it spray.

What he said. The 08+ R1's are actually somewhat slower than the older liter bikes with the exception being the 04-05 1000RR. The older R1 is a bit faster from a roll as well. The reason being in 2008 Yamaha switched to a cross plane crankshaft and a more midrange producing engine. In doing so weakend the top end rush which also resulted in lower hp numbers. However, on a track where it matters the R1 is considerably faster throughout the corners. So it's a win win for Yamaha. First ever and even better.

However, in the meantime, the new R1 sounds incredible and I cannot wait to get home and watch this video. Thanks for the post.

DSM mods are unknown. GTO is a built 402 with untouched 243 heads. The R1 gave me three cars and the hit, and could not come around me till 130+, not sure how that's murder. The dsm race is on motor, and the R1 race is on spray. My bottle was also empty after the R1 race, so I have no doubt that that effected it.

Dyno or track numbers?? The r1 came by you like you hit the brakes. Do an even start and he would pull you like a freight train

High 600s car weighs 3325. Went 11.0 at 135 not spraying first gear, with a high 1.8 60ft. Bike has gone 10.6 at 137.

Sounds like a good race on paper. I would say the low/empty bottle definitely hurt the outcome. Do it again!

Dude we all watched the same vid it was a lil more than 3 cars and as soon as he hit the throttle he started gaining on you and looked like you threw a boat anchor out when he came around you. You will not suprise no liter bikes even with shitty riders! Sorry man. I will agree with the other guys post on older R1's. They are way faster from a dig and strip. However would beat me on a track the midrange was a vast improvement.

So I saw the video last night, and yea. Older liter bikes would still easily put a hurting on you. I honestly think you're still closer to a well ridden well bolt on 600 (I'd expect you to pull) or 750. Definitely not a liter bike with a good rider. That guy can ride. Also if you watch in his other videos he's got him vs a 2011 ZX-10R and that put lengths on him.

Referring back to your earlier post, the new R1 actually has plenty of top end. U.S. bikes have a tune that rolls the TPS to 80% above 10,000rpm in stock form. It's pretty weird to watch it dial back to that on a dyno when it's hooked up to the dyno software. They cracked the ECU not long ago to bring it to Euro specs and they run hard. The crossplane crank is just for road feel and improved traction due to power pulses. I road race and that is where the crank helps out most. With a full system and cracked ECU along with air/fuel tune, they put down high 160s to the wheel. Not a BMW or new ZX-10R, but definitely not slow. If it had those mods against the GTO, it would've been even worse.

Cool vids.

The race against the R1 looked like you had more about 8 car lengths head start. Look at the stripes on the road, there were a good 4 stripes between you two, that's a big distance. And it took the bike 8 seconds tops to come flying by you hard. A heads up race with the R1 would be very ugly for you. I agree with the others, you wouldn't surprise any liter bike and have no chance hanging with one.

Man I'm not trying to be mean but a stroker with a 250 shot? I would expect a lot more from the car. Especially at that weight.

Dude you got drug badddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd dddddddddd. To say you have any chance against a bike after you were given multiple car lengths and the hit and still passed like you were in reverse makes you look like a fool.
