I'm guessing you were at the Hooters in SoCo if you were headed to IL on 255, are you on STLSR or speed?

I've got a little weight reduction done so I was right at 3400lbs with the passenger...By myself I'm right at about 3225lbs

Nice kill. I would expect that outcome with a cammed LS1. The excuses and banter are priceless.

Hey, he gave you 412rwhp so you just shut up about the weight issue ok? (Putting Down means rwhp, Putting Out means crank hp)

Nice kill OP, that outcome was about what I expected with both drivers doing there job properly. As far as the clutch thing, that non-gearhead driver must have never broken in a clutch before and glazed it before it seated properly.

Not to start a war or nothing, but doesn't the new 5.0 have a break in period where it's not running to it's full potential until 1500miles or something. Regardless, good kill on a douche that started it.

Damn! No way, I never would have figured that out.

It sounded like a very unfunny attempt at a dig. Most people say stang, never heard tang.

I would say speed more so than STLSR, but it's mostly just newb hazing so once you get past your intro thread where people tell you that your fbody has the clap.

sounds to me like it happened as it should have. a cammed bolt on LS1(380-425rwhp) vs a stock 370rwhp 5.0.

clutches are common to blow. mine let go at 16k. Mine still doesnt work right after baing replaced.

i dont see where any excuses are needed. i dont see where the stang owner should hang his head.

its not like he lost to a bolt on LS1.

no there is nothing like that. its more like a new owner break in period to learn how to keep the nannies out of teh way. he'd lose to a cammed LS1 until he has some botls ons, and maybe till he is full bolt on.

I have seen some full bolt on 5.0s at near full weight run mid to low 11s so they can run with cammed LS1s with just bolt ons.

Nice kill!!!!

At the track, you could take a stock 5.0 and do nothing but 4.56 gears, sticky tires, and a tune and I bet it would outrun most all cam only LS1s.

Manuals with the 10 bolt, you're probably right. With a 9", driver dependent. With a stalled auto, that'd be interesting.

If he's already having clutch issues he better start saving for a new transmission now.

The guy who ended up with my brother's 2011 5.0 just went 11.48 supposedly. Slicks, tune, CAI, and mufflers (stock 3.55 geared) in the cold *** air. Went 11.8x on drag radials.

Take a stock Z06 on a tire and out run the mustang. Pointless argument. A well set up cam only LS1 will run right away from a tuned 5.0 when comparing car to car with no driver factored in.

At least he was talking about the type of cars involved in this thread...

Call up John Force and out-run the Z06. They're talking about cars that were involved in the race, and in the thread.
