C6Z06 vs 458 Italia

Just something I want to point out. THIS vid shows how to properly shift gears in a c6 z06 unlike the recent thread where a z06, who's driver was show to be anonymous by wearing a Vader mask to hide is crappy shifting ability, came out on the short-end of a race against a stock 2012 GTR. If the driver of this yellow z06 were in Darth's Z, bye-bye GTR,

KILLEMALL...what's not american about a ZR1?????....and i agree with you on the Z06 kicking *** in '06....still think that was the best year as the car has gained some weight since then...love the Z06....never seen a car look so good from the back as it does, it has a beautiful *** and shaped like a woman...i have about 1500 car mag's and when the c6Z06 debuted it was like nothing else, so yeah your correct on that.
have heard though that chevrolet will increase hp to 600 in 2014 when the C7 debuts...there is also a video online of a LP700 destroying a SLS AMG and a 911 GT2 RS...believe it's from INSIDE LINE at dpccars.com....it just ran away and hid from them....awesome.

1-...... 115k for a vette isnt what Americas ever been about
2-...... Supercharger in a vette is just wrong
3-cost more than the z06 and has a smaller engine. Since when has an american done this
Z06 at 75k is already expensive for a vette but still obtainable to hard workin blue collar americans
Z06 has a monster 7.0 liter that gets my blood pumping
Call me every name in the book and while they are both amazeing the z06 just gets me more pumped.
Honestly the z06 at 7.22 at the ring and zr1 at 7.19 tells me that a 12 vs 12 they are nearly equal. Quartermile the z06 averages 11.6 at 124 while zr1 averages 11.2 at 128.zr1 is faster but whats more impressive.
This has been beat to death but the z06 would be on my island.

I think its just because he likes big N/A motors, but I'll take a ZR1 do a pulley/tune and smoke almost everyone on the highway

But he's nuts over the 458 which doesn't have a big motor at all.

why not....?
1) a z06 isnt a blue collar vehicle. Some might be able to swing it but most of the people who buy 75k cars are not your typical blue collar person.
2) The z06 which ran 7.22 cost nearly 100k. thats a far cry from a base zo6.
3) People like technology in their expensive vehicles and thats why people see the worth in the zr1.

Viper ACR bested the ZR1 on the Nuhrburgring. Sorry, but that's pretty much the ultimate proof that the viper is still better.
#75
Nick thats not even a question. Viper is by far the ultimate american road machine.
But I also like the z06 better than the zr1.
The zr1 and the gtr are the same to me. Both have respect from me but also have flaws.
Zr1=price/exterior styling of a 48k mass produced car/supercharger/wannabee exotic that looks just like what it is. A vette
Gtr=bland styling/heavy/to many produced to be truly special
Z06s only flaw is that it looks like the 48k versions. But then again at 75k its just letting you know that Hey! Im the special version of that 48k car. Im not trying to be an exotic ect. But just a bad azz car you may be able to afford if you work hard
IF THE ZR1 WAS A 7.5 LITER PUMPING OUT 638 HP ID BE SINGING A DIFFERANT TUNE. THAT WOULD BE A SPECIAL AND ALMOST EXOTIC VEHICLE WORTHY OF 120K.
what I see now is a supercharged ls2 sitten in a z06 body with a hole in the hood and suspension upgrades. Just dosent do anything for me the way the z06 has

I've owned many Vipers, 7 actually starting with the first regular producti 1992 model. Definitely not biased just honest. Anyone who claims the Viper is the "Ultimate American road machine" or whatever is simply in denial or has never driven a ZR1...like I have.

Post a vid of a stock zr1 pullin a stock gen4 on the street. Then Ill belieave you. Till then its a unicorn. Every heads up review has them amazeingly close in the quartermile.
I do think the zr1 is faster. Ive seen trap speeds as high as 132-133 for stockers. But their have been 131-132 for stock gen4s.
Id love to see a vid of them both rolling at 60 mph and letting off at 160. Can you say with 100 confidence the zr1 will be ahead? After the heads up videos Ive seen I surely cant.

And the ZR1 owns the Viper on the street and drag strip! Besides that, it has the potential to widen the performance gap even more with just minimal modifications.

And yet that same Viper, two years older and $20,000 less, still beats the ZR1 in the true trial of a car...on a circuit. On THE circuit.
Sorry, the ZR1 isn't that impressive. And the $20,000 dollar difference, apply it to modifying the car, and it would yield a Viper that would murder the ZR1 on a drag strip. Especially if you added Forced induction.
The only thing the ZR1 has on the Viper is that it is a friendlier car to drive on the street. But both the ZR1 and the Viper aren't really DD material.
