Yes it had a split lift. I want to say lift was in the 540 or 530 range. It was a Jay Allen cam. Car sounded badass though. With the flowmasters dumped and the way the car cammed it sounded like a "thump thump thump thump thump". While I had my car idling at work people inside said they thought there was a helicopter flying around outside lol. I kinda miss it being so fresh and new then.

I said ther were beter cams. But matched right frpp cams are ok. Now you had 170tfs heads wich are compared to 185 afrs because of the cross section. So you had larger head custom grind cam. I had
Ford cam and smaller heads . Mine had 2mph on yours with a slower 60ft. This is because urs is heavier. So our motors were close to equal with you having a custom grind and beter head. So with that said the x cam isnt horrible. But I do agree not the best by far

e cam with frpp 1.72 rockers also works good with fi. To me if im gonna own a pos ford I like messing with ford parts. To make real power you cant use anything ford except frpp boss block. Every thing else about it has to be aftermarket. To me its more fun to mess with junk ford **** and see what can be done with it vs all out built ****. Like my 03 cobra swap (ford) not aftermarket.

damn i remember the f cam. way back in the day i had a 306 gt40 f cam set up in a coupe 86 mustang. it ran 12.60's lol. It was a fun ride for what it was. That damn thing couldnt havent weighed 2600 pounds soaking wet. There are certainly better cam choices that the letter cams and that piece of **** in my sig. My friend had a bolt on 5.0 gt fox with an E cam and I outran him in my pi headed automatic convertable 4.6. It sounded pretty good but couldnt get out its own way.

So with this guy having the weight and build advantage, im at a loss for words on why he got stomped out so bad? He was shifting solid for the split seconds i could see....he wasnt spinning.....idk???
Could it be the built tranny, stall, gears....good tune and just a strong running ls1? Hell im only about 160 and I a little less than a qtr tank.
I have a set of 243's sitting in my garage with about 4k on them, ls6 cam and a few other suspension goodies. I'm debating on putting them in for a sleeper set up, or sending them to one of the sponsors for porting and a custom cam. Also playing with the idea of a used lq4/9 with a 226/226 cam....somewhere in that area. I'm not to big on the choppy idle, i still wanna be able to take a road trip without getting a sig loan for good gas

Well i found out a little info on the guy I had the run with. He was mouthing off to a buddy of mine from the gym....they both are Stang owners. It was a 347 stroker with long tubes, x pipes w /dumps, udp, ported tb and ported performance plenum, 4.XX gears, tune and X cams. He wouldnt say how much he was making or the exact specs of the cam.

If he doesnt have a decent set of heads to go along with the rest of that then Im not suprised you go him good. That thing would be breathing thru a straw. Ls1's are tough from a roll. Sounds like a guy who decided to build a347 and just threw parts at it. Im certainly no expert tho stoppy could tell ya better than i could
