Good kill. There are some very strong 347 powered Mustangs out there, but most that I've seen are in the 340-360 rwhp range. There are always a handful that make less because they built a low compression motor that will most likely never see forced induction of any kind

No clue on the hp numbers but my 302 has gone 7.72 in the 1/8th.
Although no where near the fastest,I'd say that's pretty good.
Mine is a coupe with full interior and exhaust.
It does have tubular K-member,manual rack, and a few more things to lighten it up.
That said,it is funny he got whooped trying to impress his' girlfriend..LOL!

Default More info

Well i found out a little info on the guy I had the run with. He was mouthing off to a buddy of mine from the gym....they both are Stang owners. It was a 347 stroker with long tubes, x pipes w /dumps, udp, ported tb and ported performance plenum, 4.XX gears, tune and X cams. He wouldnt say how much he was making or the exact specs of the cam.

Allegedly, I was scared to run him the TA. He didn't know that i own both cars, and I didn't want any part of himn in the Vette either. So I punked out and turned off. WTF.....Can't wait til another warm weather trip to Mexico!!!

Sounds like 340rwhp

Did he literally say it was 4.XX gears? Also he has X cams?

Lol, yeah bro.....thats about all i could find out. But he said the cam name or brand was actually "X Cams??" I know he is just blowing smoke....most likely just a custom cam. The gears where in the low 4's.....nothing too large. I deally what should this guy be running? RWHP and et's?

He was also quoted as saying I had the "Fake Trans Am"......i'd hate to see if i had the real one!!!

Sounds around 340rwhp. In a Fox body with 4.10 or 4.30 gears the car would be more than you can handle honestly. However the guy sounds like a complete retard so I will say half of what he has probably isn't true and he is trying to scare you away. There is no such thing as "X cams". There is a Ford Racing X cam which I am not a fan of, but no X cams.

Thats it...."Ford Racing X Cam". He didnt tell me directly. I guess the local stang guys were having a little meet and my buddy said he was bragging about how he punked me, lol. I will try to confirm the gears. So is that cam similar to the "gm hot cams" overpriced with marginal gains on bolt on engines?

What he said. IMO its a shitty cam but to some I guess not. Either way if it's a 347 with TW heads and this cam it's more than enough to take out a full bolt on LS1. "ported" Performer intake on a 347 is a joke though. Again, just my opinion.

No offense but that isn't running that good for a 306. You are right on par with what my stock uncut piston 302 ran. I had same heads, same TB, same gears, and smaller intake than you.

what mph did you go? You do realize this was on pepboys tires. And .030 over bore at almost same compression as stock 302 is
Only gonna net 20hp. And left at 1800rpm because of tires

My mph was 111mph I believe in a full weight SN95 car with 17x9 03 Cobra wheels. I was leaving at 2,000rpms on Kuhmo all season tires. 60' was 2.0 or worse I believe.

The are about equal. The fox had upr k member. But a 9.3 compression 306 and 9:1 302 arent far apart. What cam was in urs? Split lift duration?.........pony wheels

Yes it had a split lift. I want to say lift was in the 540 or 530 range. It was a Jay Allen cam. Car sounded badass though. With the flowmasters dumped and the way the car cammed it sounded like a "thump thump thump thump thump". While I had my car idling at work people inside said they thought there was a helicopter flying around outside lol. I kinda miss it being so fresh and new then.
