Nice to know you've never lost to an LS1 before...

You wouldn't last 5 minutes against most of the guys on this site.

Nice car though. I love Mach 1s.

Most on this board would last long against my ProStreet 69F100! I should call it ProStrip! It's not much of a street truck any more. Ya know how the mod bug can bite!

Wow, what a Mach migration to ls1tech! Welcome. You guys really are good. I didn't find out how fast you were until earlier in this thread. Well, now I know you're not like the Bullitt, w/ only appearance stuff added to a GT. I'll be lookin for you guys now.

man what is this a mach 1 convention??? now i feel even worse about losing...
sooner or later, I will get revenge...

BTW i am only 17 which explains my driving...
and yes I do pay for my car....

I haven't looked at the vid yet, but I just looked at your mods! Damn! Get ya a real rear and some ET Streets or slicks and get after it! I guess that car ain't fun to launch with that Spec3 and street tires! Ya gotta put the power to da ground! Just keep trying and have fun doing it! That's what I do!

My lowly 90 GT took out my friends 02 Formula, Good races and yes you definitely need a little reaction and launching practice, of course this is advice coming from a guy that can't drive much better than you lol.

Honestly though, I am starting to like Mach's a bit. I went for a ride in a turbo Mach 1 recently. It pulled pretty hard. Not like my Cobra, but very respectable. It looked mean too...18x10's out back with 315 BFG DR's.

Turbo Mach1??? Nice. Needs to be blown instead of turboed though. A nice ATI under the hood Personally I'll just stick with my crappy 240rwhp for now until I get my cage (stupid IHRA/NHRA regulations and their damn 4point bar regulations). Time to talk to my suppliers about sponsorships

Just out of curiosity, why would you rather have a blower than a turbo?

Power across the whole band not just over a certain RPM, which turbos are known for in most cases. I've seen a few twin turbo setups that run nice on stangs (and also john hennessey's setup on the viper), but in most cases I've seen better horsepower numbers with superchargers.

Peak horsepower maybe, but turbos hit full boost from a set RPM all the way through to redline. If you have two of the same exact cars with the same driver, a turbo car with 450 peak rwhp, and a supercharger car with 500 peak rwhp, in theory the turbo will win every time.

It's not about how much power you put down, it's where you put it down in the graph Turbo cars have more average horsepower than blower cars... here's an example:

RPM----Blower---Turbo
2000----100hp----100hp
3000----200hp----200hp
4000----300hp----450hp
5000----400hp----450hp
6000----500hp----450hp

Of course it's not very realistic, but you get the picture. Turbos generally produce better times with large-stroke V-8 powered cars because of the gobs of lowend torque, but they are significantly harder to tune and maintain than a blower setup, and are also much harder to install (Which is why blowers are more popular on the street than turbo cars).

Btw, please don't mention the name Hennessey around here. Most of us would love to stomp his ***** in.
