Default 2001 SS vs 2012 5.0

We did three digs. This is all the info I know about both cars. Driver in the 5.0 didn't miss any gears. He didn't spin. He launched from 3,000, then 3,500. The last race he tapped the limiter and gave up. I tried flashing the stock converter on the last race and spun. The other launches were from 1,000.

Camaro - ARH 1 7/8, ARH ORY, SLP PowerFlo, Lid, Nitto DR's, 4L60e, stock converter, stock gears. Best E/T 12.7 @ 110 8.21 @ 88 1.98 60' ~1,000ft DA. 360rwhp 370rwtq on a Dynojet

5.0 - Airaid Intake, Flowmaster Exhaust, Nitto DR's, six speed. Best E/T before mods 12.8 @ 113 Negative DA. 388rwhp on a Mustang Dyno.

Yes my car is a freak. Yes I know a tuned 5.0 will be much faster. No, I don't care. It's all in fun

Seems kinda odd and doesn't sound like a v8 to me. Did he say it was a 5.0 or are you assuming it's a 5.0? If it is legit, then good kill.

good kill OP.

its not a mystery. a bolt on stalled auto versus an Airaid stock GT. mufflers add 0 hp. there have been countless losses. there will be more.

Good kill op. Although something does seem a little off. Even the nutswinger I am finds this almost to good to be true....

Beautiful kill OP. I feel so much better knowing I have the same Camaro in a m6 and will be racing a 5.0 this summer since he's been barreling around town thinking he's hot ****

There will be war.

LOL @ the V6 comments. Did you bother reading the first post? I know the guy. We all laugh at his misfortune.

Same 5.0 vs a bolt on LS1 T/A:

I also ran a bone stock auto 5.0 on 28" MT's (former f-body owner) from two digs and beat him both times as well albeit door to door. That car just went 12.2 consistently but he stepped down to 26" radials.

Can you comment on why this bolt on LS1 only traps 110mph?

Explain further? It's a stock stalled auto LS1 that traps 110 and 88 in the 1/8. Seems pretty accurate to me.

Looks like op explained it for ya. Looks like it was enough to still be pulling on a car that trapped 113. Can you comment that? I think you've missed plenty of threads lately where bolt-on car were trapping 112-114. I believe Mike Morris trapped 114 when he was bolt-on.

He get's butt hurt easily because he needs a 6k clutch dump to get to 108. Ignore him.

So my car can't reach 108mph unless I clutch dump at 6k?

Actually I said 112-114 normal bolt-on 6m car. 115+ can be done but takes a little work. 112 in a 6m car is easy. 110 can be had and not spend a dime.
