There's a big difference between a type of car with certain mods being capable of something and someone actually doing it. It's not just the tire, it's also the driver, the track, the prep, the weather conditions, the tune, the proper tire pressure, etc, etc. The OP ran a ZR1 with X mods on the street and lost by what appears to be a car and a half or so. Regardless of what they're capable of, that's what happened.

Bottom line is he gave a very bad *** car a hell of a race. Can some of you race a modded zr1 and do that well?
Guy provided a vid...what more do you want from him. And yeas a 408 will dust a head and cammed fbody.
Ive raced head and cammed fbodies and dusted them in my old 440 rwhp and 500 rwt 99 viper very easily. On the other hand a barely built 408 ws6 pushin just 480 rwhp gave me some insanely close runs and considering he had a passenger was actually faster.

He gave our buddies 408 a good run that made 530whp from what i was told and ran almost the same times (lower MPH tho).
No ones hating on him/his car he got a better launch and that had a lot to do with it. Would be nice to see a roll between the ZR1 and 408 with the 408 tuned/spraying
