Ive raced head and cammed fbodies and dusted them in my old 440 rwhp and 500 rwt 99 viper very easily. On the other hand a barely built 408 ws6 pushin just 480 rwhp gave me some insanely close runs and considering he had a passenger was actually faster.

He gave our buddies 408 a good run that made 530whp from what i was told and ran almost the same times (lower MPH tho).

Yes I can race a modded zr1 and do well. Don't think your 99 viper would stand a chance against me and there has been many h/c ls1's that run harder then 408s. Its all about having the proper set up with a good driver.

I have a srt viper now. Havent had that 99 in six years. Just tellen my experiences thats all...
My srt is 555 rwhp and 560 rwt at 3200 pounds. I have little doubt that I could match or beat a stock zr1.
But whatever his setup is or howver good or bad the zr1 driver was bottom line is he backed his **** up with a potato against a MODDED zr1.
Just given props were its due. If my cars faster than yours or yours than mine or even if that ugly lil black civic is faster than both of us means very little to me. Thats all heresay.

smokin'Z..i still say you did a hell of job...and you admitted that you lost and that he spun...the guy tell's the truth and still a **** storm brews...i agree with killemall (hard to believe , i know)...he said it best...you proved you're point...and as everyone here always says : run what you brung, the guy wanted a race and you gave it to him...props to you.

something everyone seems to have overlooked is that its a stalled auto vs a 6 speed. i understand quite a few people can shift fast and blah blah, but ive watched this kind of race many times where the auto has less power but it still wins.

was the whole road that dirty and pothole filled? Damn man, all that road needed to be called a gravel road was a couple more pieces of gravel and a dead raccoon.
I've heard the ZR1's supercharger tends to heat soak easily, so maybe he heatsoaked it with his preruns? Something was up there, though a win is a win and if he heatsoaked it, if he couldn't launch as well as you, if his aircleaner was blocked by the carcass of a dead raccoon, etc. then he still lost by doing or not doing something you did do.
At the track IF he knows what he is doing, it will take a 150 shot for you to match his mph and probably ET. But this wasn't a track run was it? lol

but he better do alot more than a pulley and C16 to keep up when im on the nitrous

The second part was my point.
Fastest 346 has went 9.2 last time I checked, very high mph... Don't remember everything done to the setup.... bone stock block 347 has been mid 9s IIRC at a much lower MPH.

Yea h/c/i record is 9.66 that is the fastest stock bottom end that I know of.
