5.0's,Vettes,Camaros,Mopars at Royal Purple Raceway Park in Baytown Went to Baytown last friday night to see the street cars run. There was a bone stock 5.0 with paper tags on it that ran 13.15. There was one 5.0 there that ran 10.92 also .....no paper tags...lol Several high 11 second vettes====Z06s. Few 4th gens in the 12s and 11s. A few RT challengers ==13s and one SRT8 300 that ran in the 11s. A few 5.0 mustangs in the mid to low 12s and some in the high 13s,,driver mods. Most 5th gens were in the 13s with a few in the 12s. One foxbody with a turbo ran 10.42. Cold track but good air. Didnt see a Mach1 make it in the 12s ==about 6 of them all ran 13s. From what I saw OHIO is right. The new 5.0 mustang runs pretty darn good against the bowties and mopars.

So how are they not street tires? They are got legal and are on 18" rims and I drive them every day. I don't want to be like all the guys that run one set up at track and totally different on the street. Don't want somne one rolling on me and have t o be liek hold on let me go put my drag set up on. Race it liek you drive it every day. Oh wait you don't even do that. You swap rims also.

Driver/track. That is what's up. Lots drivers think they have x car and seen it runs xxx on YouTube they can do it to. They don't think they need to launch good, have tire, or what not. Track prep varies bad at this track as well. I have cut 1.6 one weekend and then cut 2.2 next with same setup. Watch a new 5.0 with tune and DR's last night run 13.6. Ducky driver, as well prep. Stock 2012 SS ran 14.2. New chalky RT ran mid 13s. Several other mustang with me ran 12.5-14.x. vested ran best of 12.5-13.5. They seem to be more driver. As launches look decent but shifting was iffy. Bunch fbodys all over for time. Stock 06 GTO with DR ran 14.3 best. Driver thought it was 6k launch whole time.

Oh and a Guy with same setup as me. Paxton blower, same rims/tires. He has a manual with 3.73s he runs constant 12,3-12.5. He is pissed with my high 10-low 11 passes. He going to be real mad when my stall goes in. Guess he should have listened on tips I gave. . Being he can't even beat my tire only time at same track in my manual.

I have run 12.30 @ 119.2 mph on street tires <non DRs> in the hot Texas summer @ Sealy on stock suspension and convertor. What do you think the 315 555Rs and a convertor do for her???
