No dyno time. Strictly street tuned. Also on stock fuel system and clutch lol

Oh no problem man it's an eps cam 236/248 .617/.617 on a 110 starts to pull hard at 4200 ish. Wanted a big cam because this is going spray and big heads. The z28s cam is a 234/246 601/607 on a 111 he comes into power at like 34 maybe 38 don't remember exactly.

Stock gears are a 3.46 so they are not "killing you". if you go with 3.90's then you will pick up a couple tenths maybe in the 1/4, but could very well slow down on the street in a roll race: especially if you go with big heads and nitrous like you are saying. Spinning aint winning!

Must be waiting to run there 5.0's for real when they see a fast 5th gen as they are more rare then Unicorns.

The one op ran should run close to mid 11's with a good driver and even ok driver trap close or least 118. Hell I know plenty that have ran into 11's with less work then one he raced. and trapped 116-118.

Remember his 5th gear is his 1:1 ratio. So he goes into 5th he might walk you by a little. Not to mention his 5th gear should go out to almost 150.

Im sure the reason the mustang let is out is because he knew he wouldnt pull him in if he threw 5th. First, 5th is probably the hardest gear to shift into quickly, and usually when you shift during a race where the other car is nearing his peak power (the gto was) you know your going to fall back.

But then again, im used to racing junk 03-04 cobras that can't throw 5th at WOT because of ford's amazing engineering.

I don't know but he seemed to be pulling on him up to 120. What are they supposed to race until one of them dies or reaches the sea, wtf, the race was over. Like it was already posted 5th is 1.1 if he did go for 5th it he probably would've continued to pull on him. The second race the GTO clearly got him, again it was a good race between 2 closely matched cars.

I think thats exactly what the 5.0 was thinking. When i raced a vette i was side by side 3rd and 4th but as soon as i shift into 5th he is at his peak hp and i fall back immediatly. Once i get higher in the rpms i stop the pull but ive already fallin behind.

As stated 5th is new stang 1:1. He was dead even already. With the gears he isn't falling out power band. And 5th is easier then 3rd in these cars.

Why would you shift in to 5th while racing in an F-Body lol

Yup I agree, like I said before it looks like the 5.0 was coming back up top.

Looks like but he didn't idk why everyone is bitching. My car goes close to 150 in fourth so I would have been okay I think. I don't think he would have kept coming see as he was in his peak power when I wasn't. The gears will help keep my car in the power band more. It is what it is.

He wasn't in peak power actually till he reaches his 1:1 ratio.

Either way good kill. Time for him to mod a little.

I'm pretty sure you reach peak power in all gears . If he would've thrown 5th it would reduce his tq multiplication.
