yeah i love em, i went with the cayman because it's ease to drive "normal" with the car not in sport mode, because it feels so sluggish...and the snow performance.

A lid and cam 4th gen spins the tires half way down the track? LMAO!

i think the only thing i've ever seen do that, and still be legitimately streetable, was a kit cobra.

i used to watch grand nationals, mustangs and camaros....besides running my own stuff......every tuesday, friday, and saturday down at atco. sometimes sundays. funny how those things all ran 12's and faster(especially the gn's) and didn't seem to have too much trouble.

i gotta admit though.....i couldn't get the low 12's outta my gt on the street tires......but i still didn't spin half way down the track either.......i knew how to not let that happen.

thats what i thought it was gonna weigh too... but it didnt. That scale is dead accurate too. No options to reduce weight from the factory. I also notice all the 5.0s weigh the same according to ford... different wheels, brakes, seats, sound systems, nav, etc...

Ya they said my base manual was 3680. Put on scale and it was actually 3540 with 1/4 fuel and shipping weight was actually 3433. A little stuff and it was down to weighing 3580 with me in it. I'm 205lbs. Seats alone have major weight. Power seats with leather weigh 84lbs. Base seats all manual weigh 47lbs. Rear seats are about 14lb difference. Manual tranny.to auto think was like 100lbs cause of tranny cooler and lines.

I should be able to drop a solid 200 lbs out of it with just changing mods. Driveshaft, wheels, tires, headers (no cats from factory cats), front cradle and a arms. Wheels and tires alone will drop 110lbs. Im 160lbs. Race weight of 3450 in something that should make around 450whp (my dyno, makes roughly 405 now), should be a pretty stout setup. In addition to all the "go fast" tricks

You can swap brakes for an easy weight drop. They drop 30lbs from stock GT brakes and think it was like 50 over brembo's. Wheels was huge for me. My weld RTS wheels weidid let me drop about 100lbs.

i like the brakes.. not turning it into a straight line only car. I would have bought a GT if that was the case. i like my turns and stuff too

i like the brembo's on my gt a LOT.

and yea....i see your point about ford reporting them all the same weight......i would have to imagine the 19's that come with the brembo package must weigh a bit more than the standard 18's......and the calipers & rotors gotta be heavier too.......

i won't be doing anything intended to lighten my car though. when i get around to hitting the track with her.....she runs what she runs at her weight. if i don't like it, i'll add power.

That pretty much how i feel. I am not dropping weight with anything but exhuast and soem suspension. I can't justify spending $1000 on a new K member and a arms to drop 30lbs. So I will not do it. I am full weight and actually heavier with bloer on it and with the bigger rims tires then it had stock. But that ok. I have enough power to make up for it. I also said screw swapping rims/tires for track only. How I drive it every day is how i take it to track and run it. why be like ya i ran a XXX but i swapped these rims and tires on it. So what you can be slower on the street.
