C5Z vs Novi 2000 2v
#42
Its expected for a forged bottom end to make that power on pump, your not re-defining gravity here friend. I wouldn't begin to compare a forged LSx to a forged 2v, lol.
No ones worried about a 2v, we are just stating facts. The only 2v's that are impressive are built. That's it nothing more or less.

Calling BS on what? I never said it wasn't built. I stated only facts. You called the 2V a turd, and I said I know of a 2V turd that would make your car look like a prius.
It doesn't matter what the reason for your swap was, you took a Z06 Corvette engine and swapped it in, then put on every imaginable bolt on. His car is a 2V 4.6L running aftermarket heads with a kenne bell and forged internals. Still a 2V, still as mild mannered as stock when it needs to be. Still running pump gas and still running all emissions equipment. Daily driven. Yes, he put some money into it, but he's making over 600rwhp on a MUSTANG DYNO on PUMP GAS. Those numbers on a mustang dyno are impressive for any daily driven setup, and I think it speaks volumes about what can be done with a 2V. Those numbers on a dynojet would be closer to 670rwhp.
Now I'm not going to pretend to know how much you got your parts for, but if you add up the retail on everything you've put into your car and the cost of a crate LS6, you'd have a decent percentage put into your car as he has into his except you're about 200-250rwhp behind.

The fact that it takes a built motor and boost to go fast qualifies the 2V as turd in my book.
I owned two of them. Without a well thoughtout, boosted setup they are weak! Even the old LT1 has tons more potential on the stock block than a 2V.

I used to think this but after seeing what Mr. Bigjeep's 2v ran I don't think they are all turds. His ran low low 11's with I think a 100 shot. His is an auto with a stall but still (and stock bottom end). All Ford bottom ends are weak (non forged) and they all lack displacement. Now I have run into a blown 2v that was a joke. Then again I've run into a LS1 that was a joke along with a 4v that was a joke. Any idiot can make any car slow. Just like anyone with a brain can make any car fast. Some cars just have a better starting point than others.

^^Exactly. I don't think I need to explain any further why 2V's are turds. Hell, a Civic can run like a raped ape with the right parts, but 90% of the ones you run into are going to run like turds. Same goes for a 2V.

2vs run well when done right there is a local turbo 2v running low 11s with a 67mm on 5psi stock bottom end. I kinda wish I went with a nasty n/a 2v setup instead of 4v. It would hurt so many feelings lol They have been in the 9s on motor and well into the 8s with fi there is nothing wrong with a modular 2v.

No offense taken. Like I said defending a 2V is like defending a TPI engine.

I would agree its a terrible platform to start from scratch with. but i got it for 10k with built rear end, tranny, driveshaft, intercooled Novi setup, new longblock etc. not to mention very clean. for that price its a fun, reliable car that can win some and lose some.
