Default c5 vs. kawasaki 1000cc

Was on a 3hr roadtrip to east tx and happened to see this string bean on a black crotch rocket. Had my buddy in the passenger seat...he used to be big into bikes. Said it was a newer zx or zr, something like that. Obviously not a bike guy myself.

He said do a little instigating, so we drove past him and gave a little throttle and he didn't bite. So a few miles of traffic later and my buddy sees him moving up....maybe a nice run. But we see him coming way too fast for that....he's doing a flyby. We had turned on the bottle a few min early just in case and as he was about one length behind I nailed it (since he wasn't playing fair) and were off.

My bud and me are looking glances at passenger window waiting for him to fly by and it just didn't happen. I pulled from 90 to 140+ all in fourth spraying. By the time it was done, he was back 3 lengths, and quickly hit the next exit. I would have too, that must have HURT!

Unfortunately, since he didn't line up for a fair run, we didn't get to video it in time.

Just for clarification, you went WOT from a cruising speed of 90mph when he was at full WOT and one car length behind you, and you stopped his pull?

We were cruising about 85 or 90, faster than most traffic but not by much.

We saw him coming so I dropped to fourth and hit it, we couldn't hear anything but my car after that. My friend said he was fully squatted down, throttle wrist cocked fully back.

Surprised the **** out of both of us. Never run anyone since I got this botte

So you stopped a liter bikes WOT by going WOT when he was only 1 car length behind?

Yeah.

I don't think so.

Maybe it was a 600 , but no way you stopped a liter bikes pull in that situation.

I'm guessing the bike was in the wrong gear. I just raced a buddy of mine with a zx10 in my c5 from a 40 roll and he pulled at least 4-6 bike lengths on me up to about 130 before he shut down. He started in 1st gear and even pulled the front wheel a little. I probably make a little more power than you on the spray. I'll bet it was fun none the less!

Yeah sounds to me that it was more like a zx6r and not a zx10r

There is one in every bunch.

We could start the list of why I shouldn't have beat him, but the reason the story was a story was cause I did beat him. Maybe he couldn't ride, maybe he missed a shift, maybe he was distracted when his cell phone vibrated, etc.

Maybe if he had lined up and raced straight he would of won straight.

The way you presented your story was:

Bike comes WOT and is 1000c
1 car length behind me I gun it
He never passes me

A liter bike riding up on you at that speed WOT would blow by you so hard you'd need a 1000awhp gtr to stop that type of pull. Like I said your friend was probably wrong and it was probably a smaller bike.

1000awhp to beat a liter bike stock? I dunno about that much.

But if he hadn't been a douche, and perhaps been a cool guy instead, I would have known exactly what I was up against.

I'm saying you'd need 1000awhp to stop a liter bike 1 car length behind WOT.

It takes about 650-700 wheel to hang with or beat a liter bike in a vette from a roll. Anything slower, it's a traction/rider's race...in my humble experience of racing mostly all bikes with my car. A nitrous vette, could have very well made some great power and was in a sweet spot when he layed into it. Vettes work well at high speed, the bike should have came out up still but, he didn't. Good job.

If it was a 600,...you'd have gotten him a lot worse on spray. NA it would have been a race.
