I disagree. Fastest 1/4 mile cars are RWD. Weight and drivetrain loss take major role when racing on a prepped surface with purpose built cars.
However, on the street those lambos are nasty. Doesn't LMR have a 1800hp+ C6 that they drive on the street. I'd like to see that match up.

NOLAG05...i heard that..lolol..how about approx. $2000 for the veyron oil change !!!!!...i think that was the amount that i read, i guess if you can afford the car the oil change shouldn't be a problem...imagine owning a veyron and needing tires and an oil change..lolol...$5,500.00 !!!!!!...****...i too love the LSX, just not that crazy about how the VENOM looks is all...power wise, well damn...lolol...hey man, how about you guys trade JUSTIN VERLANDER to my YANKEES for a few prospects...lolololol...

Jesus! Lamborghini is insane! 800hp in a stock N/A automobile?!! Holy crap man, thats gonna be a beast. Ferrari will have to do something extraordinary for the F12 to have a chance against the LP800, my god. Has Top Gear tested the Aventador yet? Vids?
The new Viper has me quite worried as well. Chevy better turn the boost up in the ZR1.
It seems like though that barely anybody turbos the V12 Lambos (Murcielago), and UGR has the Gallardo kits listed at higher hp than the Murci. Maybe theres just more people buying the Gallardos that are actually willing and able to mod them.
No doubt though, the awd cars definitely have an advantage in every category on the street. Im ready to see AMS get the GTR gearing figured out better and see what the Alpha-Omega can do in the mile. And for yall talking about Veyrons, I dont even think the Super Sport would stand a chance against these 1500+ hp cars. The regular Veyron did the mile at like, what, 204mph? Thats really quite weak considering 1900hp Ford GT TT/Gallardo TTs doing 255+ mph and street legal 650+ rwhp Turbo Hayabusas doing 265mph. Even a Veyron SS would get busses put on it by something like that, so naturally I imagine a Koeniggsegg probably would get left as well. They may have a high listed top speed and good 0-60s but it takes them a loooong time to get to that top speed.

I agree the Bugatti would take the loss but your missing the point... The Bugatti is running those times and mile an hour in stock form... The other cars are HEAVILY modded to do that... Big difference when your car goes under the knife for two or three weeks worth of work while the Veyron does it with the paper tags still on... Kinda like my Gen 1 V with intake, exhaust, and blower verses a stock Gen II... of course i'm gonna win but you let him go back and make the same mods and it gets pretty ugly from there...lol

JBHOTROD...the new aventador has been tested by various magazines including ROAD & TRACK that did 0-60mph in 2.7 sec....0-100mph in 5.8 sec...1/4 mile was 10.4@136.mph...top speed was 217mph...next year lamborghini not only will present the aventador roadster, but also the aventador SV LP800-4...should be something else entirely...U.G.R. basically use's what customers bring in, and more people prefer the gallardo to the murcielago because of weight and price...i would rather have the murci myself...
NOLAG05 & AUDACIOUS NICK both got it right...people can build a car that beat a bugatti, but that is a stock car doing all this and albeit a 4000+ lbs car at that..and like NICK said, ignore the price, the veyron does deliver ...the new viper does deliver as well...and kind of funny how dodge makes claims of 640hp and 206 mph top speed , just to put it a little ahead of the ZR1...lololol...it's all good as the new C7 will debut in i believe 2014 and will be unlike any corvette before it...i've heard the Z06 will make 600hp. and the ZR1 700HP...only time will tell...

Yeah I know, its impressive as hell stock and would probably get you more play than any other car at the club on the weekends. Still though, the price is so outrageous its not even worth it to get one with the plan of making it faster.
Does anyone know what the fastest Viper 1/4mi is? All the youtube vids are super old.
Is there anything confirmed as far as engine options on the C7 Vette?
Anyway, just thought Id throw this out there. Anyone know/talk to the owner? I bet its quite an impressive ride.... Supposed 1500-1600hp. He did 240 and that wasnt even staying in it all the way. It looks pretty slippery, but I dont know much about aeros, are stock cars pretty aerodynamic?

JBHOTROD...if you're asking about stock viper's i believe high 10's...stock on DR'S for a SRT10 600hp. version...nothing yet on engine options for the C7 all i read was that the ZR1 was going to produce 700hp. & the Z06 600hp....
