'01 ss against my buddy's '12 srt8 392
Ok so I have a 01 ss M6 basically stock other than K&N FIPK and a bullet cat-back. The car seems to run pretty good - nothing amazing of course. My buddy just bought a '12 challenger srt8 392 M6. He thinks its fast as hell - which it seemed to run pretty good. I got behind him outside of town the other day, he kicked it and I went to 4th and he didn't pull me any but I couldn't gain on him that time. We did this 3 or 4 times running up to about 100 mph with me downshifting into 3rd and either I could stay right with him or gain slightly on him ( all runs were while going down the road). I got in front of him headin back towards town and I kicked it (like he had) and pulled him by at least 3-4 cars. Now personally I am fairly certain my car isn't faster than his (mine has roughly 145 hp less) and I know he isn't able to drive it that well yet, but do you think I could take him at the strip? I feel confident I could get him in the 1/8th maybe not the 1/4. What do you guys think?

Now you guys stop right here! The last person we did this to deleted his whole thread.. If he wants to stay in fantasy land and believe his stock f-body can hang or beat a '12 challenger srt8 392 M6 then it's o.k. with me!!

To think the 392's are consistent 115mph cars is silly. Id say more like 110-112 on average. Ive seen plenty run under 110.
It was a M6. Throw in a crappy driver thats short shifting the **** outta the car and this is totally believable.
Did this really happen as he says. Prolly so. Did he beat the car or the driver?? Def the driver. **** happens.

Funny how stockish F-body's are all of the sudden running low 12s. Unfortunately, mine was only able to pull off low 13's @ 107.x in stoxk trim.

But yes those as times it posted. Was funny a stock looking/sounding RT challenger was running just as good.

Bone stock means stock tires too, im pretty sure it didnt get into the mid 12s on the stock tires, agreed on the ridiculous threads.

While i do agree theres a lot of hype surrounding the new 392 and unbelievably around here of all places they get TOO MUCH respect. They are mid 12sec cars out of the box with stock tires if theyre driven by a competent driver. Think the hero run is 12.1-12.2 with stock everything.
