Yes they are. They recenetly did the fastest stock displacement SRT8 which is now making 1103hp/916tq. I don't think that is has made a pass since the last dyno.

Nope. But there is a huge car scene. They use to hang out at the Home Depot on Jefferson Ave. in Newport News by the I-64 on ramp at about 10:30PM and at the Independence car wash on Independence Blvd in VA Beach at about the same time. There use to be a huge gathering at the Bass Pro Shop on Sat. nights at 5:00PM on Powerplant PKWY in Hampton but they had put a stop to it after some idiots ruined it for everyone. They may have started it back up though.

The Camaro in the video has an LS6 on it, unless you were talking about the GTO in the second video.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I feel it needs repeating. In those MT82s in the 5.0, 5th is the 1:1 gear, so it just pulls VERY strong up top. With the 3.73s, he doesn't go into 5th until 100mph, so it's perfect time to have a strong gear (we all know how the GM 1:1 gear pulls).

Why would someone put a ls6 manifold on a ls2? Why restrict a 4inch bore with a 78mm intake?

Because stock LS6 intake > stock LS2 intake. He bought the car with the LS2 in it, and it had an LS1 intake on it. He'll probably throw a FAST on it when he gets around to putting a cam in it, but for a stock cam, the LS6 will do just fine.

I remember a buddy had that problem with his old 00 SS SLP. Tuners tinkered with settings and he was upset his cam/bolt-on only m6 made 386rwhp. Come to find out, the TB was only opening about 80-85%

I'm trying to remember a few threads back where a GTO guy posted a test with different intakes - LS1, LS2, LS6, and Fast

This! I'm excited to see how the car performs. Wait, LS2's don't make that much power... why wasn't the almighty 5.0 running away from him?

Stock 243s.
Stock LS2 cam.

It's just a stock longblock LS2 with an LS6 intake manifold.

ls1 and ls2 intakes perform about the same..the ls6 is better than both..something is wrong with that camaro. It's a lighter car and has just as much hp or than the 5.0..

Then the outcome makes perfect sense, especially with a somewhat big converter..not very "roll" friendly. A FAST intake should definitely pick up power, even a ported LS2 with the stock 90mm TB would work wonders.

No. 5.0 probably making ~410 or so, LS2 is definitely not making near that. Since it's through a stalled auto, I'd say 370 or so, and the weight is maybe a few hundred lbs off at most.

This is why we race, dyno #s, weight, trap speed, etc. look good on paper but don't tell the whole story.

Thank you, somewhat that knows what is going on. That converter is pretty tight, and definitely not roll friendly.

A ported LS2 w/ stock 90mm TB is leagues ahead of an LS1 intake and will even flow better than a out-of-the-box LS6.

As for power, you have to consider the Camaro is STOCK other than the lid & exhaust, plus its going through a stalled-Auto. I guarantee you it is not making nearly what the Mustang is for power.
