Do you know to beat it from a dig or a roll? And what kind of full bolt on 5.0. Are you referring to the ones that run low 11s at 120+ or the ones that are still stuck in the 12s at mid teens. Like any other car, they have there good drivers, bad drivers, good setups, bad setups. But in your case, full bolt ons, 4.10s, and a cam should cover you against most bolt on 5.0s. There might be that one or two that come along that have a bit more time into there setup that will pull you. But thats few and far in between. When that happens, just grab a set of heads and a fast intake. Done. As far as a 408 is concerned. You would have to make the weakest 408 to not get that job done

haha obviously not.. but in all seriousness. If he wants a setup to beat ALL bolt on 5.0s and not just the half assed ones that arent impressive, he should put together a nice H/C setup. And i mean ALL bolt on 5.0s. The fastest currently runs 10.88 at 126. And there are multiple that are real close to taking that title away. But those are few and far between. OP needs a solid 120mph car to cover most bolt on 5.0s he will encounter.

Low 11's are my concern, not the 12 second guys that probably don't know how to drive or have a mixed bag of parts. Not all 408 LS cars run 10's - especially ones set up for DD that still have functioning A/C. Low 11's here are more than adequate for my needs - if I want more a N2O shot can fix that.
I don't intent do rebuild the LS1 - I'd prefer more displacement along with larger bore to allow heads to breath without huge cam timing which while fun is not when stuck in traffic. I don't want to be changing valve springs every 6 months either.
