I never raced a 5.0 when i was stock, I raced one when I had lts cai and tune. He also had lts, cai, tune. It was a manual 3.73 car, beat him from a 50 roll up to about 120 when we had to lift because of traffic. Stock l99s have run high 12s, not what Id consider a dog. Premium fuel, running on high octane timing in ecm, and all the nannies off is all it takes to run bottom 13's and high 12's in a stock l99.

BMR Billet Aluminium Control arms
BMR Relocation brackets
BMR Upper adjustable control arm
J&M Aluminium Pan hard bar
BMR pan hard bar support
Roush springs
The only thing still stock in the back suspension is the tokico adjustable shocks and sway bar. And ill be changing out to a BMR bigger rear sway bar with billet links. My car is impossible to get to wheel hop. It either spins or hooks. The factory wheel hop is bad to the point of the stock 6 spd GTOs.
