There is at least a 10-12 mph trap speed difference between those cars.
That Zr1 will need 150 more at the tires to run with the Evo. Had the Evo not missed a gear like that it would have pulled at least 5 cars.

Stop comparing tuners cars with less HP and trap speeds. Is what YOUR CAR does with YOU driving at YOUR track.

Take this ZR1 to a dyno to double check, and run it at the track. In south Fla. no 800 rw vette is going to trap 150 in the summer, probably needs close to 1k at the tires with a 6 spd. to do it.

Gio, you"ve said you had issues, what kind of issues? Why don't you re-dyno the car to see what hp is exactly doing?
You are going to need 150 at the tires more from whatever you make in Miami to run with this Evo judging by this race.

Car X also has a large displacement engine. Car Y makes 800 rwhp and 450 rwtq but at 8k rpm and is a low displacement 6 cyl engine. Both cars weigh the exact same, and also have transmissions to match their powerbands. From a roll; I guarantee every time Car Y is going to get the win because of how it makes its power. Now this doesn't work every time as there is many many other factors. But most of the time it usually goes toward the lower displacement car.
I see the point you are trying to make...but its not necessarily correct. Its like saying 40% of the time it works all the time.

Thanks

Im not going to get into it because the evo is the clear winner and I don't need to make excuses why I lost. The evo owner was over at my house the next day to find the issue and it was found. Getting it fixed now and we will run again to see if I can close that gap.

Since when does a car that makes the same Rwhp and down 150Rwtq with a 1/4 the displacement and the same weight have an advantage from a roll?

One main thing that makes Ls motors rape at 100+mph is the mph... If you don't have a C6Z/Zr1 by couple cars before 120mph, the bitch will come around you.

The great thing about that EVO is that it was built in 2006 and always on kill and very reliable. That thing always run strong with no issues or breaking parts. That evo is well put together.

Few here the same way. Always on rape mode and never down less it for upgrades.

Can't wait to see rematch.

It's not making excuses, its using common sense in knowing that two cars at similar weights making the same power should not be that far apart if everything is in order. That's what most of these guys have been saying from the get, wouldn't call it making excuses though. When I first saw the vid I thought wow, if that Z is really making 800whp than my car must be severely underrated.

Good luck with the fix.

I've ran several EVO's on "rape mode" and haven't had any problems. Friend of a friend's EVO X is pushing 825awhp@ 3150 pounds and we were door to door twice from a roll. He makes 20whp more than me and is 170lbs lighter. I think once the owner here gets his problem sorted out it'll be a much closer race.

How much power do you make? If its anywhere near 800 and you were even with your friends 825whp evo why was this zr1 so far behind? Just doesn't make sense.

Dynos are a tool. What matters is how you do at the track and street.

Both are not 800rwhp... Evo has more or ZR1 has less. Thats how it goes down.
Either way, good runs. Sounds like someone needs to replace that syncro or get online and googlemaps himself to 4th gear

Its either hit or miss. Refer to quote below, also had a friend makign 440 with stock motor with 100k miles rebuilt title turd car on e85 never skipped a beat. There are PLENTY of reliable EVOs here old friend was making low 5's on stock longblock for YEARS, the only thing i can say is unrealiable (which both cars suffered from) when abused is there transfer cases. Other than that they are just as reliable as any car.

BTW the evo 4g63 is not the same 4g63 with the infamous crank walk.

For the others who didn't see this.
