Anytime its gonna cost me more then 5k it better look good too in my opinion, that said I dont dislike the looks of the cobalt. I joined an ST forum and got back on cobaltss.net, gonna learn some more about both and see how they compare. This is a year out time frame, so Ill get to see what the ST is made of.

Good runs op! You guys never hear of studded tires down there? Holy hell, up here a cobalt with studs runs real great in the snow...just have to represent for the slobalts here guys. I mean no **** these guys don't roll into it when it's glare up here! STI would lose it's edge real quick under those cirucumstances against a well put together SS sloball!

We don't nearly have as much cold and iced conditions that parts of Canada has. Best thing for us is blizzacks. It might be that studded tires are not approved for road use by the DOT or something like that.

Doesn't snow enough here and I am pretty sure we cant do them in IL.

Id give many Sti's a run and have a vid of what I did to my buddies Evo on here.

Just a bitch for the avg gu to drive one in the snow.
I take my time. Not by choice. I actually start on the gas before light turns green so I can get across the intersection in an inc of snow

Ah, but you forgot, my car runs that fast at a drag strip that is 6000ft above sea level. If you're in Cheyenne, WY at 6062ft above sea level, your BMW is not as fast as it is in Vegas or Illinois.

Studded tires are illegal here for winter use as they destroy the roads. Maybe a regular STi would lose to a Cobalt but mine are no where near stock... Stock vs Stock Cobalts dont stand a chance against an STi car in the snow... You put more power to the front wheels in the snow and they tend to go everywhere but forward...lol. Hey Hugger wanna race in the snow?...lol

That is true, although turbo cars fare better in higher elevation than NA cars. What do you think you would run at my sea level?

My 13.1@110.5 corrects to a 12.5@116 assuming perfect DA of 0 at sea level. So for most tracks close to sea level with not perfect weather, I'd probably be around a 12.7@115 or so.

Personally not a fan of the Focus ST. But then again, I'm also not a big fan of hatches like that. Just does not appeal to me
