When will people wake up and realise the massive following of enthusiasts the GT-R has. Realistically. If you parked a GT-R next to a ZR-1. Hands down the GT-R will have more people asking questions and taking pictures. The car looks nothing like anything out there. The average not so car savvy person can mistake a ZR-1 for a C4 Corvette.
GTR is very ugly and that is the car's only real shortcoming to me. I was sooo close to getting one but just could not stand the looks. Modded ones though are so hard to beat it was a tough decision on my part not demodding a few cars and selling them to get one. Most non car people can easily mistake one for a G35 or a Z car. The ones I rode in about 15 times in get no attention at all on the street and one is bright red.
At this car show in OC it got very little attention compared to the non ZR1s it was parked next too...

I disagree.

My 370Z gets more attention - by far.
And...it's a saugage magnet as guys look at the car far more so than girls.
That doesn't mean I don't like the way it looks.
It also isn't the reason I bought the car.
I bought it to go very fast. And for the money - it was the best bang for my buck AND I liked the way it looked.
The Z06 - used (new it costs as much as the GTR fully loaded - and the ZR1 is more expensive) - was a better price point - but I hate the interior and the build quality is not top notch. A SC's Z06 with full bolt ons made more sense than a ZR1 - plus the engine has more potential.

But for the semi slick Pilot Cup Sports used - the ZR-1 was only marginally faster than the 2009-2011 GTR - Slower than the 2012 GTR at NBR.
Now the 2014 is apparently 7:18 which I think is very close to the ZR1 with the tires.
The GTR was built for road race.

You agree the ZR1 is faster - as do I.
Where we seem to have differences - is how MUCH faster is the ZR1?
The OP stated the GTR had 890 AWHP, later retracted to 890 rwhp.
So already there was a loss of at least 40 awhp.
But even a 850 awhp GTR vs a 870 rwhp ZR1 - with spray - and knowing the Chevy's have a strong top end - I doubted the GTR's output.
Why?
Because there are a million similar races and they look alot like this:
If you watch the whole video - you will see whoever gets the hit wins. No coming back from large leads.
The last race is the best as they hit it at teh same time and are side by side.

I should go find a vid of my buddies vortech stroker foxbody vs an alpha 6 gtr and how he steam rolled it after giving the gtr the hit. That'd be another can of worms over on your forum!

The video is impossible. I refuse to believe it. The ZR1 is the best hands down. I've been lead to believe this through all the findings that have been posted on LS1tech!!!!!!!!!

I - myself - defended a Z06 Full bolt on's versus a tune and exhaust GTR and stated the GTR would lose in that situation.
We also have many videos of crazy fast fox body's pulling on GTR's.
I'm just about the facts ma'am. Either way.
