Back on topic. The 6-speed TL's in general are a good bit quicker than the Auto's. 4th and 5th gear on the Auto's are overdrive gears. They try to go from 110-150 in 4th gear like a Corvette would without the corvette power. There is a gap in gearing between 110-130 on the auto's, hence why you probably came back. A 6-speed, even NON-Type S would have smoked your Sonata. Also, 0-110 with an auto (base or type S) you probably would lose as well.
Nice runs though and good luck with your new ride.

Also it's not my car.

power under the curve has nothing to do with racing. ESP roll racing where you start in gear at 4500+ (hopefully haha). avg power between shifts and weight are the 2 main factors. gearing is a close 3rd.

right, wouldn't the "avg power between shifts" still classify as usable power under the curve? even if that section of the curve is just 2k rpms?

Going down to dealership right now.
May be my last few days with the SRT10.
Going to see how much trade in they will give me on a new 2500 or a SRT8 jeep (which they'd have to order).
Really leaning towards the 2500. Buy a tuner and crank that bitch up to smoke screen people
