is this outcome normal? So the other day I was driving home from work, and some dude flew right up behind me in a new 5.0 mustang. so we were revving and jumping a little back and forth, and finally he pulls up in the left lane. so he jumps, both of us around 55, and i stopped he pull and pulled back a fender, then half a car, then out of no where a dude in a sick grand sport vette, loud, as hell, blows by both of us. dude in the mustang let off around 80, so I did too, he gave a wave, and pulled back. grand sport was gone, still rocketing down the highway at unsafe speeds. lol.
my question is a thought these cars were quite a bit quicker? it appeared stock, but seemed louder. all I have is bolt ones, and a 3800 stall. cool day, I rarely see any cool cars, if more seldom do they wanna race, and here I had two sick cars going WOT.

With bolt ons and stall you could run with one and slightly pul him. Specially if he is an auto. Driver always plays a roll as well. Stock depending on air/track etc they trap aywhere from 110-114.

sounds right. i see them run at atco between 12.5-13.x stock and some with DR's, both auto/stick. Your car should be mid 12's if not a little quicker and mph around his. totally believable. The Gran Sport? God only knows lol.. Seem them run 9's looking and sounding close to a stock

50-55 to maybe 80-90 tops. it was quick, but he let off first. im hoping in good air my car is good for a low 12,was hoping to hit an 11 on a drag radial, but it wont make it to the track before the cam/FAST intake is in.

Sounds right with your mods. Possibly an auto with just axle back or muffler delete... I'd have expected him to do a bit better, but wouldn't expect him to win if he was stock or basically close to it.

A bolt on LS1 shouldn't have any problem beating a stock 5.0. Now a bolt on 5.0, thats a different story. Time to cam.
