5th gens do pretty good on the street vs track tho. i took my bolton 5th gen to a local airstrip race. out of 150 + cars in the street tire class i got 2nd. they just dont do so well when u have to launch them hard . i took out 2 5.0 one was a bolt on car and other was a bolton and spray. 5th gens are fun in stuff like that. ppl didnt believe that my car at the time was just a exhaust email tune cold air intake only.

its the extra weight vs the live real axle.
et's might not be that quick but ls3s make serious power with a little work

idiots or not, we should be happy each time someone buys a 5th gen. It helps to keep gm and the Camaro name alive.

Wait..I didn't get a auto and manuel in my 5th gen, I'VE BEEN ROBBED!.

Good kill though.

I've been trying to find a new 5.0 to play with in this town but no one that has one want's to play. I'm also the only the only one in town with a 5th gen that will run besides this one older guy. His car is cam, turbo, all supporting mods, made close to 600rwhp..it's his garage queen though.

not saying there arent cool knowledgeable people that own both, just seems like the people that are in the market for a car like that lean towards the ford here lately
Dude you should be way faster than 113 with a cam......that's why you respect the 5.0's instead of own them. Hell you should be faster than that with bolt-ons.

I'm sure the da hurt you a little. But that's bolt-on territory bud. Actually we got Notches(ls1 Camaro) to go over 116 w/o headers and only about 200lbs worth of weight reduction. Decent da though.

I went 112.8 with mac headers/ory, udp, lid, maf at full weight when the car was ls1.

Your cammed car should be there or more at your weight. not really trying to bust your ***** but something is up. Maybe it's your driving, maybe tune. Who knows but it should go better.

Op was in a cammed ls1 4th gen.

Assuming op has supporting mods 113 is pretty low.

What was the et?

People get so butt hurt when you try and help them. 113mph is terrible for a cam'd car lol.

oh i see, my bad on that part.

well not all tracks are created equal even when the weather is seemingly decent. i've been on days when Bolton ls1's are trapping 107-108mph and cammed ones 111-113mph. Bolton ls2 gto's 108mph and pullied cobras 113-114mph. if his cammed ls1 had trouble with a Bolton 5.0 then that sounds about right. aren't Bolton 5.0's trapping 118mph or so on the internet world (where all cars run 3mph faster than average)

thats at mokan
not exactly the fastest track in the midwest

last time we.were there a ford gt didnt run faster than bottom 12s at over 120

theres nothing wrong with the car, its faster than a bolt on tuned 5.0, its plenty fast for a full weight cam only car

113mph is **** for a "proper" set up cammed LS1 4th gen. Not to sound like an *** OP, I'm sure your car can do much better. Just saying.

Hell, a "proper" set up cammed LT1 can do 113mph lol

thats true, but maybe not at his track that same night. People only usually post bests and then other people get those bests and use it as a baseline. If his cammed LS1 is beating 5.0's then its probably running how it should.

113mph is **** at seal level but if its at like 5000+ DA its not bad at all. Not sure what the DA is where he ran but if its 113mph at like 5000-6000 DA thats like 120 or so at sea level i believe? im not sure.

Oh I hear ya, A LS1 doesn't need a cam to beat a 5.0 though. I've beaten one that was stock-m6, and a auto one w a cb at least, last Spring. I'm just full bolt ons, but I can drive and the car is very healthy. Now I would imagine I would need a cam to take down a full bolt on one though.

Thing that sucks is the only two 5.0s around me I raced. No one has muscle cars around here. I'm plagued with evo's and sti's. You can't drive wo seeing at least a half dozen of them.

Very true man, I guess I forget sometimes people live up in elevation. Just used to Chicago which is pretty much sea level. But everything else sucks lol

my bad i just meant that a full weight street car LS1 would need a cam if the 5.0 was full bolton.
