Stoppy..with that kind of gear you have, I would just keep a set of DRs on for good..Even with my 4.10s it is enough to be a PITA to try and get traction. I tried control arms, springs, struts/shocks but nothing gave me traction like a tire....basically, just got tired of playing catch-up. I actually got about 9000 miles out of my last set of Shittos which included track and street use. Maybe you should consider a pair...

Good kill
I just noticed it was a 4 door!

Hey the only reason I gave him the chase was because of all the Grand Prix GTP threads before. Almost like running into an exotic!

Yea this morning it was in the 20's but when I went home it was in the low 50's but the road was still cold and had salt on it from the snow the day before.

Stoppy isnt your ride a nasty 60 footer and low trapper?
If he had a few mods and was up in the low 104 traps, i can see why he gave u hell in bad weather.

Or i could be losin my mind.
If so, i blame the pope.

I feel it was a low trapper (even though Sepno's car with 50rwhp more than me only trapped 1mph more) because of the 2 seized up calipers I found. But hey, I'm not one to make excuses.

I had one that ran a 14.2 stock and 98mph and a 2.0 60 ft. I think, there are very quick out of the whole but once u hit 2nd it falls on its face. The gears are veeeerrrryyy long and There's a sad top end power band. So a manual car will def pull in higher gears. There is an emblem on the back that says v8 it would b driver side if I remember right. The fender vents give it away that it is a gxp for sure. Man I miss that car though....

Driven a couple, quick to the top of their second gear, dead once you shift to 3rd, not much highway pull, speed down low makes it seem like it's quick, let down my tranny/gearing. Torque steer is noticeable even when stock.

LMAO Stoppy, nothing against you and no doubt in my mind you were going to win that... I'm just amazed, considering what those LS4s trap vs what you personally trap, it took you as much gear as it did to pull up 1.5 cars. Maybe he had a few bolt ons? Who knows.

Torque steer is a lot less noticeable on the GXP's than it is on the less powerful GTP. That's thanks to the larger wheels in the front (8 in wheels vs 7 in wheels in the rear).

I'm at a higher elevation than a lot of you, but I ran a 14.7 in my exhaust only 2008 GXP. They have the power and aerodynamic capability to reach its governed speed limit of 160 mph. It just takes forever to get there because of the long gears. 160 is reached in 3rd gear. Haha

Oh mine does too. While I was at work it started snowing and before I could figure it out, it was on the ground so I had to leave the Mustang for a day. On the way home the next day I punched it in 2nd and 3rd and boy did she pull hard! Wife was in the lane next to me and she said you could see the front end come way up.

He had exhaust from the way it sounded. Either way my gears are very short. So you say its hard to believe it took me until 3rd. 3rd gear for me starts below 60mph and lasts 3 seconds. He didn't let out until I past him, that I know.

Yeah I actually run all seasons so your traction issues and mine are worlds apart.

They make high performance kits for those trannies.
Yeah they use essentially the same tranny as the S/C 3800 cars (over 60hp less, less torque, and even those shredded trannys when driven hard). You shouldn't need a performance transmission to hold a factory car together.

There's a lot of people who have tranny problems who don't even beat on them. I highly doubt you'll see many of these on the road in 10 years, once high schoolers can afford them, the remaining ones will be insta-broken.
