Ran a GXP, wtf is it?

Ran a GXP, wtf is it? As I'm coming to a redlight I see a Grand Prix floor it and I was surprised to hear a very good exhaust tone! 
At this point I think "It must be a GTP or whatever!" and then "Ju1ce" followed by "Gonna make a fun thread on LS1tech!"
Well I started to stalk him in 5th gear until I could get the right opportunity. As luck would have it the light ahead turned red and no one was around at this point. I eased over beside him and just stayed calm at the light. Not knowing if he was going to run me or not I slipped the clutch a little aggressively but nothing crazy. Well my 1st gear is stupid short so I was needing to shift into 2nd unless I was going WOT very quickly. I let off the throttle in 1st around 3,500rpm to shift into 2nd and as soon as I did he floored it. So I got back into it in 1st and the tires just let go.
My car hooks up pretty good in the warmer months but today we still had snow on the ground. He pulled ahead and I shifted into 2nd like I was on a pair of slicks (instinct I guess) and I was just playing all with the rev limiter area.
This reminded me of Sepno and my street race. Fawk, not again! The Pontiac was about 1.5 cars or maybe 2 ahead at this point. I let off the throttle then got back into it, slammed 3rd and got traction. Here we go!!!
As soon as I hooked up I started sucking him in. Top of 3rd I was at his rear and I hit 4th and just ripped by him. 
Well as soon as I did he hit the brakes hard then so did I. So not sure how bad it would have got. Not happy with that I slowed down wanting a 2nd gear roll but he wasn't coming for 2nds. Then he floored it as we were coming to a light full of cars. :curious: Then I realized it was to give me a thumbs up
then he let off again. Another thing I noticed was an X in his badge. On the rear was a chrome V6 emblem, and vents on the front fenders. Looked like a new car and was very well taken care of and actually looked good! I snapped a pic at the light then he turned right at it. So what's the specs on these? Seemed about like a stock 2v would run.
