I remember some doucher from high school said his bolt-on one would destroy my "POS LT1". Let off after 2nd gear (~70mph) because I felt so bad for him

My 95 went 97K before it went... I did a cap/rotor on it and when the motor died at 129K (oil pump failed) I tossed the same one into the next motor. The wife's 96 lost the stock opti at 119K. Overall I never really had issues with them... but it is hilarious looking back at old posts online and seeing the opti mentioned for every symptom known to man. oh your wiper fluid isn't working..did you check your opti?

We changed mine out with an OEM unit recommended to me by Speedinc at 102k when we did the headers install just in case. When we took it off, found out the stocker had an msd cap and rotor upgrade.

Ohh well, live and learn

Who gives a **** about slow *** LT1s?!

Anyways back to something that matters worth a damn...I saw him again today! Same place, same time. So I'm guessing he gets off work at the same time I do. I thought what a perfect time to **** this LS up! The car infact had V8 emblem on the trunk passenger and PONTIAC on the trunk driver's. So I go to run him down and realize something...

I'm in the new Civic and left the red track key at home!

Stock GXP gearing sucks major ***. 2.93:1 with 27" tires. For some dumb reason, the factory 2nd-3rd shift is cut short at 5200RPM in drive. 1st-2nd will shift at 5900. This is why they run low to mid 14's. When Tap shifting into 3rd@5900 they will run upper 13's with a 2.0 60ft and gain 1-1.5 mph in trap speeds.

With a CAI, exhaust and tune they will run mid 13's and trap 101-104mph.

Car #102 (other car was a new Acura TL-S)

You had to manually shift that car or it would upshift to 3rd at like 4800rpm.. used to hold 2nd through the traps screamin.

And by 1200 miles the trans started acting up so i traded it in for my TBSS... nice car, just wrong wheel drive lol

The GP GXP's are quick for what they are (transverse mounted v8). May not be a match for Stoppy's car, but the average Mach 1 should avoid them.

Lol a FWD 4 door sedan giving Mustang owners something to worry about.

FWD or not... It's all about the engine
LS4 5.3L with 243 heads and 10: compression. Their are major choke points though..

The other cool thing about the LS4, is that it is lighter then the L67 3.8 S/C engine.

I wouldn't worry about one unless I was in a stock 2v.
