No sir, that's one of the famous ATX fox bodies... Stock aluminum 6.0 with a 91 mm turbo. Gone mid 8s at 161 on 17 psi. I have video of it on 10 psi racing a turbo BMW and GT500 a couple months ago.

I thought that at first, but what would be more idiotic is to run WOT at the track and test it then only for it not to deploy.

I mean you see guys test trans brakes or do logs on the street or in parking lots. Why not this?

 

really? you don't make a full pass when chute testing. I guess the top fuel cars just pray the packer is not hungover. or maybe they should start hitting up raceway rd before making a pass. you know, just to make sure.

 

You are comparing a professional top fuel pit member to some guy hanging a chute for the first time. Yeah, that's an apples to apples comparison all right.

 

I don't see why it's such a big deal. Dudes just havin fun testin his equipment. Go cry somewhere else cuz that obviously isn't hurting anyone. Now I wanna see some track vids to back up the claim!

 

Haha that wasn't a full pass... There's video of his ride making those passes, I don't know his YouTube name off hand but he goes by the handle "dudeman". He ran like 8.61 @ 161 mph on a 3 speed with no second gear. Work_in_progress knows the car also.

 

I would do it. it works and stop safely. good test run.
