Did not correct the speedo but I did have my GPS hooked up just for that reason. Actually my speedo is off by only 2 mph on the low side. Won't even read till 37 mph lol. Bit on the highway it reads 2 low.

Plus I pulled almost all of 4th so 4th tops at 137 in my car. So math says 130 ish not 110.

im not sure how true it is and i haven't researched it but Ive been told with the vettes the speedo's do not need to be re calibrated after gear changes because of where the speed sensor is located.

Speedo recalibration is not necessary in a manual trans C5 after a gear swap.

You sir are correct. Speed sensor is located in the differential, gear swap doesn't effect the speedo. Of course tire size does.


OP, car looks like it hauls some major *** and sounds great.

Can anyone tell me why my speedo basically doesn't kick in till 37mph? After that its fine.

Never heard of that problem before. You might have some better luck asking about this issue over on http://forums.corvetteforum.com/. I've found it helpful over there for issues like this.
