Default c5 z06 402 stroker and 4.10 gears. New Gears Test Run 40-130

Just got my tick master and built diff with 4.10s in last night. Out testing and loving the gears! Toyo Tq drags in the rear.

Since you don't know much about my car or what i was shooting for I beg to differ. I have a 7k rpm limit with 27 in tall tires. I was able to go 114 in 3rd and 162 in 4th with my 3.42s. Now I am at 95 in 3rd and 137 in 4th. Much more usable at the drag strip. Since my car will be trapping in the 128-133 range this year It will be much better suited for what i want. My car makes pretty good low to mid range but with my heads Small bore LS7. My car really shines in the upper RPMS. SO these gears really woke up the car. I rarely ever go above 140 so these for me were what i wanted.

But yes for all motor she rolls out pretty good.

I was joking. I have 4.56 gears myself, so I'm on your side. But there is a member on here that says 4.10s in a LS will make you slower.

Yea in my case after a few pulls last night its not slower. Deff pulls much faster. Plus im still only at 1900 rpms at 65 in 6th so as for livability im not sure whats the big deal? But i dont daily mine anymore so i didnt care about that anyway.

Don't worry about these idiots. Their poking at me. They opened their mouth before you said your whole combo.....and they're probably to dumb to know that 4.10 w/27" is almost the same as 3.90 w/26" tire. About 2-3mph difference.

That would be ME What I said was 4.10's is to much for a bolt-on car.....and they are. The best part is I have the results to back it up.

Now with that said there are 2 bolt-on ls6 cars that has trapped 130+, one of them being me. One of them has 4.10's and a 27" tire, the other has 3.90's and a 26" tire(me). Do you really think I don't know wtf I'm talking about?

To be honest op you should be looking to trap a fair amount more than me. You have 100whp more and the same rpm range. Should a car with 100whp more and maybe 200lbs heavier be running slightly more gear? Well I guess we will have to let the results speak for them selves.

Exactly OP. If you don't trap 156mph on motor, according to Hiho you are doing something wrong.

Did I say he was doing anything wrong?? I will tell you this. When I put my ls7 in I'm gonna be looking to go 138~ and I'll have less power than op. And that may require me backing up to 3.73's.

that part of racing and owning a car, if everyone thought the same thing and done the same it would suck.

Well from 40-130 it pulls much faster then with my 3.42 gears. So I like the change and for my setup and goals I believe the will be beneficial.

I know this is going to sound funny, but I'm assuming you've corrected speedo for the new gears. Otherwise, you're doing pulls from 35 to 110 or something, depending on previous gear setup.
