I was on my way over to my boys house, going down 13 mile rd headed East. I suppose when its nice out, I always drive with some authority. So I'm just cruisin at the speed limit of 35 mph, when this red tinted out Alero pulls up next to me. Then he downshifted and took off. there were 2 fat fart cannons hanging out the azz of that thing, and it was pretty loud. kinda sounded like $hit though, if you ask me. so i give it a little gas and catch ip to him. he was straight, asked what I had done to it, and i relied, "A lot." He says, "Me too." So im kinda laughing my azz off in my head right now. Thinking, "That thing better have a small block in it if you think you're hangin with the Z." And then he asks me if I wanted to race for money, and I was like, "Damn, this ***** too good to be true. A frickin Alero wants to race me for money?" I opted to be nice and not take his money though. So we line up on a roll, about 40 mph or so and I let him give the start. After I heard his Auto start to shift I threw it in 2nd and and waited a second. I let him grab a car on me...And then i hit it! I caught up before my tires even got traction and blew by him like it was my job. After I pretty much bent him over like a 50 cent hoe, he made up some excuse I couldnt really understand, and turned off. What the hell couldve been going though his mind? I think he was spraying on me? it was faster than any grand am or alero ive ever seen, but still no match for the Z. I'd bet he'd run about a 16.5 second quarter...hahahahaha. What a moron.

I could just hear the auto downshift, and I gave him a bit of mercy. haha. there was definetely soemthing done to the alero, but im not sure what. I wouldnt doubt it if he was sprayin 50 on me, but im not sure. didnt really get to ask. he was a nice guy though, and it never hurts to try though. If he waited a bit longer to turn I woulda told him to go find a mustang, haha, maybe he coulda hung with one of those. Still never lost on the street...

That would be a fun race. But if i ever lost to a full weight minivan Id have to sell that Z for being a piece a ****. haha. Ive seen some shows with a crap load of rice. there were these two brothers who took their mmoms minivan and it had a turbo on it. ran like 13.80's. not bad. but no match for the Z, and it probably cost twice as much...

Haha, it's possible, but highly unikely. I blew out a s/c 5.0 on motor last year before the woodward cruise...no match. Countless 4.6 gt's...no match. and I raced a 99 cobra when i was stock except for a muffler...pulled 2 cars to 50, and then 4 cars to 80...no match. havent got a piece of an 03 cobra yet, but you can see my mods, and if i spray 125 on him...no match. Never lost on the street, including such cars as a 911 turbo, Z06's, mustangs, and others.

Actually, It should have ran in the 15's stock. My g/f has an 03 Grand Am GT with the 3400 V6 (same as the Alero), and I got it to go 15.8 @ 87 stock. There isn't much out there for those cars though, so maybe 14's if he was spraying. Still, who knows what he was thinking when I he though he could race you.

15.80's in a stock grand am gt??? It may be possible, but the track conditions had to be perfect for that. My boy has a 97 30th aniv. Z-28 Conv. and had was running 15.70's stock at Lapeer Dragway in 100 degree weather. You and I both know that theres no way any stock 3400 V6 will run with an LT1.

He probably can't drive for **** then. My 93 Mustang GT went 14.6 @ 95 with a catback and x-pipe, and I know a 97 Z should have ripped that up. 15.8 in a stock Grand Am GT. I'll scan the slip too.

I would sell my LT1 if I couldn't do better that a 15.70. I don't care if it is an A4 and a convertable. If he were to run into a Grand Am and he was driving like that I would put my money on the Grand Am.
