Default 370 Trans Am VS H/C C5Z

370 Trans Am (me)- stock l92 heads/stock l76 intake, 231/236 cam, 1 3/4 headers, 373s, PTC 3500, 3600#, suspension.. Made 437Rwhp with a 5000 converter.

C5Z- 232/236 .625 cam, slight ported heads, ls6 intake, full exhaust, probably 3175#... IIRC he made a little over 400Rwhp on a nitrous tune (4* pulled).

20 ROLL- We left perfect and were neck and neck through his 1st/2nd gear... He had said his 3rd gear is considerably stronger and it showed.

40 ROLL- I was ******* with the camera and not paying 100% full attention so he got a little jump and it made a large difference cause he started his pull instead of me holding him off until 3rd gear.

the weight advantage really showed.. I was roughly 3640# today. I'm going to try to get mine down to 34XX#.
It is nice to get a good variety of cars to run before I start doing all the little things.. It will give me a good idea of how much everything really is adding up.

We are going to get a dig in within the next couple days.. Probably do another 20 roll as well.

As soon as he gets his bottle filled we are going to see how both cars act on a 100 hit. My car will most likely like the spray a little more being I am higher CR and a converter built for it. This converter is showing how much it is leaving on the table on motor being built for nitrous. I built it to take nitrous though, motor isn't a big deal to me.

Thanks man.. I still got a long way to go, this is just the initial fun after getting the build completed.

It is killing me knowing I can make it faster by just a few small changes but I'm not touching it until I go to the track. After that I will change it up and get more runs in with this Z and the red TA both.

Yea, it turned out almost exactly as I thought. I guess him by 1 car, ended up being 1.5.

We will run next day or two again and see if the outcome is any different and also get a dig in.

I need to get this pigs weight down badly.

I weigh about 175 pds myself, the car should weigh about 3050-3080 pds without me in it. So my race weight was around 3250 ish. Only weight reduction I have is the full exhaust with no cats. My wheels are slightly heavier than stock c5Z wheels and my clutch is a little lighter than stock I'm sure but flywheel is same weight. I wouldn't mind shaving more weight but I'm not gutting the car or getting rid of AC or anything. Ill have to find some shortcuts somewhere.
