LT1 Z28 vs SN95 Cobra vs MK4 GTi Turbo
The cars:
Mine- '97 LT1 Z28 M6 with mods in sig
Friend- '94 Cobra 5.0, 5 speed, Cai, shorty headers, dual exhaust, 4.10 gears, chip
Other friend- Volkswagen GTi Mk4, 1.8 turbo, 5 speed, after market muffler, upgraded tune, 10lbs of boost
First race was from a 40 roll, we were running 3 wide, 3 honks, go.
I was in 2nd gear and and began pulling ahead of both slowly and was still in first by the time we slowed down.
Second race, was from a 25 roll, I was in 1st gear this time, 3 honks, and go. I shot ahead immediately, chirpped the tires into 2nd gear and just kept pulling hard up to about 100. I was 3+ car lengths ahead of the cobra and even more for the GTi.
Overall, I was really happy. I was worried about the cobra since I have a lot less mods. I left with the wins and pride.

Sorry if posted before, but how many miles are on it? I'd snag some gears if you could as well
I lost a car length or less to a mid 12s @ 110 mph bolt-on A4 LS1 before with me running NA. Have also beat a few M6 bolton LS1s in street races. Lots of variables come into play during a street race

lolz my friends Auto ws6 with a "built" a4 tranny and cat back and free mods i think lost to an i/catback 2006 si so yeah.
He swapped to a t56 then he added longtubes and other stuff but it still lost to a friends evo that was off a tooth of timing lol.
That evo lost to a minor bolt on solstice and that same solstice added more mods to later lose to a bolt on k-swap integra which was slow as hell compared to all the other k-cars here.
Lot of bench racing but Just to give you an example of how slow that LTx ws6 was.
That LTx was godly fast compared to an SN95, there was one at our HS he used to pick on all the time when it was catback free mods only. **** was funny.
What was the race with the LS1 to? was it from a dig?

Good kill OP!
I always LOL when I hear people call LT1's "turds" when infact they were faster than any car in their class and just as fast or darn close to many of the more expensive cars of that time (I.e. Supra TT, 3000GT VR4, 300ZX-TT, MR2 Turbo etc.). I remember like it was yesterday the look on people's faces when my '96 SS walked right pass them. LOL

Well maintained LT1s with bolt-ons do pretty well for what they are.
