Default Mach VS stalled LS1

First run was from a 15 roll, we both agreed on it being good for us. I wanted him to honk because 1st gear goes fast for me and steering, honking, and shifting quickly are kinda hard with my gears. So he honked so damn slow I ended up jumping trying to guess when he was going to honk. So we called it a wash but we both still tried.

Run 2 was also a 15 roll but with me honking. Damn good run it was!

Run 3 was a dig. Neither of us hooked and I had to short shift 1st because I was going no where.

Nice runs Stoppy!
Big difference with you honking it off and then him. Looks like if you both left at the same time, it was a good evenly matched run. I am basing this though on the 2nd run where you honked it off but I cannot tell if you left late. Regardless, your gears really give you the jump off the hit.

Good runs and the video looked good to.

Yea he was like "You jumped like an instant solid car!" We had a good laugh over the run. I gave him hell for honking so damn slow. And I'm not sure what the stall is. I think he said it will flash to 4400??? Honestly not even sure what that means, I'm a stick guy if you can tell.

Yea I like a consistant 'honk..honk..honk' and not a 'hooooonk...............hooooooonk..............ho ooonk' His car is the best running LS1 I've come across mod/performance, period. And I've come across alot.

Good runs man...

A 4400 is an extremely large converter... Unless someone is staying all motor or has a very large cam it is not recommended.

Probably hurting him from a roll unless it is a bad *** converter with good efficiency, most aren't. I bet it hits like a Mother F'er from a dig though!

That bitch left violent AF in that first run!

Looks like you start pulling him up top.. Am I seeing that right? This is the guy revving the stock cam to 6500??

Yea same guy. Said I was pulling him hard up top. I let out early in each race in 4th because I'm paranoid of my front Nexen skinnies blowing at high speeds. Going to get these or these http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-1573/overview/ or http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtt-6652/overview/ in a couple weeks. Not sure how Bias Ply will work with radial rears so IDK yet which one.

Also in all the runs we never got a clean run in. He either jumped or was rolling faster than I was. No big deal, runs were in fun! Tonight brings the *** kickings...

Cool stuff. No way a Mach pulled an LS up top, though.

Jesus, tell that guy to put a decent gear in that thing. 3.73's would really wake that LS1 up. 2.73's are just silly.

Nice kill though.

Agreed.
Unless he is trying to save gas or run up to 160mph from a roll I do not see the use of the 2.73's either. A 3.42 or even better, a 3.73 gear would work a hell of a lot better.

I'm guessing we have a basically stock LS1 here that needs some better gears bad, and a strong running Mach with a good driver mod....so with that thought in mind the outcome makes good sense to me now

Ok, lets clear the air since the original poster obviously can't post all the correct facts. And yes . . . I own the slow *** Z28 in the vids.

1. My car has a Yank 3600SS stall not a 4400 stall!
2. The car shifts at 6200 rpm not 6500, but in the heat of the day the trans flares a bit and it will shift a little higher. I need to tune the car badly but have not had a chance yet.
3. Other than the stall the car is stone stock short of a SLP lid and SLP loudmouth catback.

His car has a full dyno tune plus many mods including 4:56 rear gears. It wasn't a surprise he beat a 2:73 geared auto LS1. This car saw 600 miles of driving this week which is average. I'm not interested in making the car the fastest street car, thats left for my 87 Grand National.

The best race which WAS legit was the second race which he still won. We both hit at the same time and both lifted at the same time. He had about 1/2 to 3/4 car at 105.

Those are the facts. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

-Brian
