An F10 M5 Stock is faster than a C6 Z06 Bone Stock from a roll?

I'm not gonna lie, you guys sound butt hurt about these videos. Please post a video of you or a friend running one and beating one with a stock Z06. Everyone mentions "driver mod" this and that but when put to the test no one can show anything. Give me a ******* break.

Man...i'm a Vette owner and there sure are a lot of butt hurt comments in this thread. Kinda reminds me of some of the GTR threads lawl
The DCT is basically magic and IIRC keeps the boost up between shifts, which helps a ton for an FI car. Even if you're in a turbocharged pig of a car when you don't lose momentum between shifts that's a huge advantage, especially against ******** who can't shift to save their lives. But even against those who CAN shift the DCT car will win most of the time if the 2 cars are close enough in acceleration. A GTR will pull a similarly powered Vette 7/10 times on the streets, from a ROLL too.
And to the comment regarding the new v8 twin turbo AMG beating a Z06 on the freeway...stock I'm not sure but with a simple tune those things get close to 600 WHEEL hp on pump gas and I'm sure that's enough to pull the ever loving crap out of a stock Z06. I love the Z06 too as I'm still going to move on to one after I'm done with my LS3 Vette, but just imagine you're in a Z06 with your girlfriend and a tuned E63 AMG/F10 M5 rolls up next to you with 3 passengers all sipping on coffee and getting their butts massaged by their seats staying with you/pulling the crap out of you...lmao
The Z06 came out in 2005 as an 06 model IIRC, it's natural that cars like the M5/AMGs are now as quick/quicker after 5/6/7 years or something (my math sucks). Now I'm not saying the video in the OP is definitive and that a stock M5 is definitely quicker than a Z06 from a roll...but who cares? lol
As with most here I have this problem of hoping I'm always the fastest guy on the streets...but with the way things are now even if I'm in a GTR that's not FBO with E85 or more I'd be weary of these new german v8tt monsters. The new E63 AMG also comes in AWD...say bye bye to our Vettes at stop lights lawl. There is always somebody faster ...
Please don't stop the bickering though, this is better than TV

Was just pointing out the facts they decided to leave out to make the M5 seem like such a beast. But that's usually how it works. And how because they do the same back half mph they should be very close, yet the ZR1 is only 1mph faster and they aren't claiming its as fast as that lol

like i said if I had a z06 I'd just run a local M5 so I can sleep better at night

Where the **** did all these m5 nut huggers come from?
For a 100+k you can count me out of buying one. Hell the car takes you like a month to learn how it works. My buddy's F10 we couldn't even figure out half the features with the manual... Complicated as *****.
It's like, "For 100% Sport Mode please press that left dual rudder key ignition port and then insert your ***** into the ball recognition system, type your 34 digit pass code in and now deposit $100."

I don't think you get my comment as in AWD isn't the GT-R's only advantage. It has something like the M5 that is being mentioned called a dual clutch transmission. Not only that but there is an aerodynamic advantage.

by the way isn't the GTR rwd unless it's losing traction then the front wheels come into play?

AWD only helps from a dig, on the freeway the GTR and other DCT cars are still quick as hell because of their transmissions' amazingly quick shifts and the ability to maintain boost between shifts. Imagine each shift in a manual car = losing 1 car length to a DCT car.

Guys, car and driver uses vbox machines costing 10k dollars for their road tests along with correction factoring to adjust for conditions much like a dyno. Yes the smg m5 has done 0-60 in 3.7 secs and the c6z in around 3.5-3.7 secs, now look at 0-150mph times though. New m5 is around 18.5 secs and the c6z is between 17.0-17.5 secs in all the issues i've seen. I mean do some of you think a new m5 is gonna take out a 13 shelby as well lol? We know a shelby is a hair faster (half car) than a z from a roll aka drivers race. Of course these numbers in the real world are assuming the z is in the right gear and not taking 9 tenths of a sec per shift when in an encounter with a new m5, like most of these euro vids. Haha.

The videos are suspect by way of not having enough info, bad driving/shifting, or a combo of both. The new bmw's are fast either way, but will not beat a properly driven c6 z06 stock for stock. Curb weights are 4300 lbs for the m5 and 3130 to 3250 for the c6z, so lets average the vette at 3190 lbs.
