Yes I would take an older Gallardo over a new ZR1. Do I hate Vettes? No.. I love them. Like I mentioned before I was looking at Z06s before I decided on my GT500. I think Vettes are sexy as hell and DO resoect them. I am not a Ford only guy. I like all makes of cars. I guess you guys just like arguing with me because I own a Ferd.
I mean **** motortrend claims its a 13 sec car at 109 mph. Where is the 100k worth of performance? Just a dumb investment especially if you truly care about performance. If your interested in getting looks and just to say "yeah i own a lambo", i guess. But other than that i don't see it.

Also, I don't even know why there's so much argument over the '13 GT500 and Z06. There's more than enough videos showing that there is an edge to the GT500. If anything it's impressive how easily the Z06 hangs with the car given the power difference. Besides, the z06 belongs on a road course!

I'm a GM
myself I had an old Ford Mustang (94 GT 5.0 stock) thing is from what you said I (me personally) can go out and get a C6Z and run a 10.9? If i tried hard enough? I would beg to differ considering I'm probably not even half as good on the drag strip than most regular Jo's that are on this site. The guy who ran that 10.9 probably goes every chance he can and it probably took him a long time to get there. Not discrediting the Famous Z but not every one can run like that. I do believe from factory they are faster then the 13 gt500 just because they have better tires, less weight, better aerodynamics, better gearing etc.... but the average Joe isn't gonna be able to do it. Hell with my upgrades im sure a damn good driver could get 11's no problem but me nope id be happy with low 12's or even mid 12's at most.

You know how many cars ive seen be faster both ET and MPH at the track but lose on the roll on the street?? It takes a lot more effort to get something weighing 4000lbs moving then it does 3000lbs from a dead stop then it does a rolling start. Case and point. My GTO trapped 122. My buddies Vette trapped 125. It was side by side till about 100mph where i started to walk away. Its very easy in comparison to make a vette mph well due to the simple fact that its a lot more efficient from its weight in the first 330'.

Naw not at all, i just don't understand how you could choose a 10 year old exotic car that was mediocre at best over a brand new car that is one of the fastest factory cars on the market. Especially even after you claim you "love" vettes. I don't know i def wouldn't want one of those lambos, i see like 10-15 on the way from my house to south beach, everyone has one here.

I love Vette's... yes..(pretty much only the C6's).. but if I had a choice of an AWD Gallardo over one.. i would take the Gallardo.
I am not a Chevy only guy, I also love all makes of cars. However, I would never take an older Gallardo over a ZR1, the Lambo is kind of a turd in the performance category. So I'm pretty interested in hearing your reasoning behind picking the Gallardo, beyond "status."

And as he mention harder to get the gt500 to go from a dig. With a 100wtq advantage and 140whp both on stock tires is going to need a great driver not to blow the tires off. Not to mention the weight advantage.
also I have seen few others posted on various forums of 13 gt500 going 11.1 or better and 126-129 stock. From different tracks. Seen few with tire only go in the mid 10's@126-129.
Biggest issue with all them still is 1 or 2 do it. Yet no one else can come within a tenth. To me something dont add up.

Couple of us said the gt500 was winning by a car or so. Never said it was bus lengths.
