Like, internal ****... cams... port and polish... stroking/boring... bolt ons...not saying it would be logical to do some ****... but it can be done, and well, with enough money you can get shitloads of other ****... and nitrous would get you there too... I know he said he wasnt counting that, but that was after the first statement...

Milla, give it up dude. Quantum physics will prove that you can actually put your hand thru a wall without hurting your hand or the wall.....but give it a try sometime. The common general theory/belief among the Supra community is that the stock twins are not gonna get ya much more than 450rwhp...........it's not a new car. Folks have pretty much got it figured out.
Also, The aerodynamics of a vette are .31 for the FRC and .29 for the coupe. The new C6 coupe is .28!!!!!!
Another thing.....people keep mentioning 1/4 mile times. Unless this is going to take place on a marked off 1/4 mile, then those arguements are completely irrelevant.
My money would be on the vette but it would be close. An LS1 on spray is tought to beat.

ok, heres a little update. i'm pretty sure the supra is single turbo, and he has a bunch of boltons and different cams. i think i'm going to take it to the 1/4th. i'll run slicks on the vette, and from my understanding, supras aren't very good low end. i'll be running the procharger and boltons, with slicks, but won't be using nitrous. i expect to be around 450-500rwhp. i would say the supra is around 550-580rwhp, but this is all a guess.

Agreed, but with a good fuel system, the right turbo setup and a good set of cams/cam gears....it is completely possible. The biggest thing i see of supras is this.....
a well setup 600rwhp single turbo supra is something to be much more afraid of than a way over the top big single 1000hp supra....
to get that hyped 1000hp, many supra owners will cam their car WAY up in the RPM range, resulting in the well known "supra's with high hp that cant race from a stop".....but a well setup 600rwhp supra with a strong tranny(auto) a big single/good fuel system to support it/ good cams without being overbearing/ and a good tune.......WOW....that's all i have to say!

thats like saying, if you have heads and cam on a LS1, you have 500 to the wheels...
there are alot of single supra's out there and only a few are around those numbers.. just like only a few h/c ls1's are at 500whp
that car is going to need headwork, cams, a BIG single, a crazy fuel system, race gas, and boost well over 25 psi with nitrous.
I dont think supras have hit over 1000rwhp on the stock bottom end without nitrous

The Supra guys had a National Meet here in Houston a couple of months ago. They had a dyno day at Turbochargers.com while they were in town. I understand one guy was laying down just a hair over 1200HP to the wheels. But, from what I understand about the Supras, they have a real hard time hooking up. So, if you can go from a stop...do it.
Good luck to ya...
Good luck to ya...

supras are gay and they blow *****, dyno queens.... He probly dont have **** on you... use the nitrous man thats why you have it!!!! if any one says any **** about it say F*** you its a legit method of forced induction and your pushing 30+ Psi. if all he is layind down is 650ish to the wheels.... thats like equivelant to you laying down 450-500 if it was indeed 950+ etc... yea youd have some issues but as is from what im reading... you should have him spray off the get go, just get a good launch on him and keep pullin it. its not that supras are "Good in top end" its that they SUCK in bottom end. put that torque to good use hook it, rip it, and when he gets up in his power band it shouldnt even matter at that point. ive seen a 9.8 @ 155 supra... with some ls1's running 9.0 @ 155 but again thats not cause they are godly in top speed.
Your trap speed is a display of true power, the raw brute power of your car, and him having more power then you its natural for him to lay a higher top speed, thats the way it works you cant overcome his speed unless you have more power, in which case you would anally murder him, however him lacking the torque, the low end power, weighing more then you, and from what i hear they can grip good, you should have this won.
LUKE, USE THE NITROUS,.....
Kick his *** , and let me know how it went ASAP!!

There are several vid's floating around of twins making north of 800hp on the dyno. 9-10's is normal for most highly tuned twins with aftermarket turbos and good head work. His tranny will help him alot. Should be very interesting.

I'm thinking the vette will win from a dig like everyone is saying the Supra has crap for low end torque...but from a roll I'm thinking the supra will win if he doesn't spray. Try to get this one on video should be a great race!
