Damn! Didnt realize the new vipers were that strong! Cant believe the GT500 & Viper didnt go at it tho. That would have been a great race.
I love that the Viper is the only american "supercar" still gettin **** done NA. Other than the exotics i cant think of a NA car from the factory that is faster. I def believe it could be faster than the exotics as well if it wasnt for mother ferrari not allowing it. Im pretty confident that engine could produce 700bhp as is.

The new Vipers are no longer associated with Dodge. If you research a bit you'll see that SRT has come out as an individual company(similar to Shelby American). Thus the reason the new viper's have tracion control, ferari inspired interior ETC. Why Dodge is pushing them is unknown to me or anyone else, when SRT actually produces them not dodge
Trust me dodge still makes vipers. It's nothing like shelby america which is pretty much a aftermarket tuner shop. The new "RAM" technically isnt dodge either. Ram is a brand all in itself just like "srt" is. Lets be real tho. Its a ******* dodge built on an dodge assembly line just like the vipers.
If what you are saying were true then the SRT8 300,Charger,Challenger, and Cherokee wouldnt be made by Chrysler,Dodge, and Jeep but we all know that they roll down the same line as the V6 varients of those models...
What would be Dodge's "Shelby America" is Arrington Motorsports. They were the first ones Dodge gave full tuning capabilities to. Not bullshit handheld tuning. FULL tuning. The same **** the engineers use.

Either way.. some more new Viper action with a c6Z and 500. All look like sweet cars. Love the look of the new Viper. Can't wait to see what these things are going to put down when the major mods start flowing.

Here is a stock Gen 4. With full exhaust they put down 590whp+- (DJ) and trap 132-134.

I think everyone probably already knows this, but that was a hero run...fairly cold, awesome track prep and a good driver. That same Viper was trapping around 122 on a hot day in another video that is floating around YouTube...these things pull timing and add fuel like crazy when the temps go up.

7, but yes...the PCMs in these cars are notorious for pulling timing and adding fuel at the slightest provocation. WOT for more than 15 seconds? AFR drops to around 10.5:1 to keep the pistons cool. Ambient temps above about 85dum° and the timing gets pulled way back...it can definitely be felt. And since no one has hacked the rolling encryption, no one can do anything about it. I'm not sure if the Gen V Vipers suffer from this same overly sensitive PCM, but the architecture is the same, granted the Gen Vs have forged pistons, so they can be a little more aggressive with the factory tune.

Jamie Furman was the first person to run 10s in a bone-stock Gen 4 Viper back in March of '09. 10.92@129 at Maryland International Raceway. There's a vid of the run on YouTube. They are definitely capable of dipping in the 10s in the right conditions.
