Used to be a cammed 3v that ran around here that I never got the chance to run. Figured that might have been a dead nuts race.

So you are saying a pos mod motor can still outrun lsx cars hmmm Just more proof of 4v dominance.

The 3 valves do run pretty good you just gotta have it setup right, the downfall is the weight of these cars their pretty heavy so gears are a must. My 3 valve ran pretty good on my old setup with a d1 procharger, full exaust, 4.10's made 525 rwhp

I'm not big on Mod motors like I am push rod engines, I know that John Mihovetz has said the 4V stuff didn't like cams with much over .500 lift, but he also said that the 4V heads didn't need big lift cams to make power.
I know the new 5.0 has a different set up with it's heads and valve train, so it might be different.

yea.....just 60lbs of boost. Do you really think Mihovetz stuff has anything to do with normal bolt-on cammed ****? Don't be naive. If it did modulars would actually be impressive. We would all be driving them and even bad drivers/wrenches would be in the 8's.
The 5.0 is a different animal. It's a good engine. 5 liters seem to be the magic minimum displacement for getting good power out of a v8.

This coming from someone with a superchArged modular that can't get out of the 12's means nothing.
Besides that you don't have a clue to what was done to keep a engine like that together.

As a matter of fact a lot of Mihovetz's ideas have made it into the production 5.0...

For what it's worth, my lid/muffler 2.73 car took an auto 3V from both a 30-90 roll and a dig to ~100 last night. Kid said it had a cai, catback, and tune. Pulled him pretty hard on the roll and it would have just kept getting worse had he not let out. And on the dig I didn't touch the gas until I saw his hood lift. Caught, passed, and put a car on him before he quit.

This attitude is why I don't bother trying to have technical discussion on this website. I was trying to have a semi technical discussion and you can't stop yourself from being condescending.

The bold statement alone should let you know how much he changes the 4.6 to get it where he needs it. Like I said.......All you modular guys should be running atleast 8's ......even the slow stupid ones like autotard. Should be busting 9's n/a easily on stock bottoms. But no.....instead even Heater posts a gutted Mach that runs high 11's with cams and you guys think that is impressive.
