I actually test drove an ecoboost f150 fx4 over the weekend. Drove it about 12 miles with the ac on and was getting 18.8 mpg for the short trip with 40% highway and 60% in town. Not bad for a heavy *** truck. The interior was ****!!!

Only a mid 13 second car stock for the STI....tune makes those Ecoboosts fly. Sounds about right with the outcome. Good race.

Those 6 cylinder ecoboost engines are impressive. With just a tune it is able to put down about the same hp and a little more torque than my 6.1. Damn..

Cobb tunes make very little power. I know on some other platforms you can leave up to 70% of the power you can make with a certain set of mods on the table.

Quietest STI in the world.

Not to discredit your story because I'd love for it to be true, but isn't the explorer like 4800 lbs? Versus an STI at 3300? Even with a 100hp advantage over the STI, the power to weight numbers still favors the STI. And you had a steady walk in that video.

That was VERY surprising! The STi is a neat little car that moves well, even stock. To see an Explorer drive away like that, regardless the engine... WILD!

There was the 300ish hp 4.6L in the old chassis, but I just don't see it running like that and it's actually smaller(but at least as heavy). Man... That just put the Explorer on my list... I did NOT need that! I'd already decided on a Fusion Titanium AWD 2.0L and now this... DAMN! The only good news is, I haven't gotten the car yet. I was playing hard ball because the dealer doesn't wanna sell it for a low enough price. The Explorer, however, gives me another option... TRADE IN! I need a tow capable vehicle...

I agree the preloaded cobb tunes are pretty bad.

Getting the wife an explorer sport later this year. Good to see it will run decent with a few mods.
