It's off my list already. I went looking today and not only do most sales people not really know enough about it to sell it(evidently it sells itself quite well), they don't know it even GETS the Ecoboost! The problem there is, there's an entirely different 3.5L in most of these Explorers, which has no turbo. It's a fine engine I'm sure, but nowhere near the power level of the Ecoboost.

So I searched around and found that generally speaking, the Ecoboost version isn't only the "sport" model, but that those START around $40,000 and end somewhere well north of 50k... I'm not spending that much coin for an SUV that doesn't also get my woman off at her discretion... AND wash my dishes and clothes!

Seriously, I'm sure it's a great vehicle, as I spent about an hour going over 2 of them today. That said, no way am I spending that much. My last Explorer was 36k, but at least it was an Eddie Bauer, plus it came with a frame and a V8! It also had SIRIUS Sat. radio and AWD... A new SPORT has all that, but for about 10-17k more. Those 3rd row seats seem PRICEY!

Runs like a raped ape(for an SUV), but I have to pass due to the price. I did look one over on the used lot though, for 33,794... 29,622 miles already! That's high, but man does this thing suffer a fat value loss in a rush! This one is a LIMITED 4WD... Actually, they have the original window sticker(which does help value to a small extent) and it shows $42,275.00 so, it took a roughly $8,500 hit in less than 1yr. I suppose we could also say, "Hey, only about 20% off the top!" Anyway, new won't be for me.

Figured this would be an appropriate spot for this. Fella on another forum (he's on here too) posted this vid up. Pretty damn impressive...

A WK1 with very basic bolt ons would be a great race for the one in the Livernois video. I haven't heard yet what the wk2's are able to do with minimal mods so that would be an interesting race to see.

Anyone know the mod list for the Livernois Explorer?

As far as I know from another forum......

Tune
CAI
Catted downpipe
Corsa (maybe?) Axleback
Springs

The pilot is an employee for Livernois, who weighs about 150lbs, for whatever that's worth...

CTGreddy is a member on here, I should be letting him tell the info as he was the driver in the vid.

Well it is damn impressive for a full size SUV with a 6 cylinder. That's the beauty of turbos. Any idea on how much boost it is running?

CAI

prototype catted downpipes
prototype Corsa cat back exhaust

Here is a link to the thread about the record setting pass! Enjoy -Chris

Would it still run that time minus the springs?

That's awesome for that mod list

I'd leave the stock catback on, however this thing is sweet.

Yeah, I knew they aren't as fast stock, but I haven't heard yet how much a tune is improving them over stock.

Not too sure about that question. We haven't run it without the springs. I'd assume the time would be close. -Chris
