That little bit of rev limit should not have hurt the engine. Good runs!

Goes to show you that engines blow up, no matter the brand or design.

Agree with Hio. Bouncing off the rev limiter isn't going to throw a rod. If it was that dangerous, then nobody would use a two step launch either. It works the same way by cutting out at a set RPM. That car was already in trouble.

Good runs OP.

Maybe he was spinning and letting it hit the limiter as to gain traction. All the badass Honda guys do it. Jeez don't you guys know anything.

Have fun with the exhaust valves on your LS7, unless you replaced them already...

It's not a valve issue from what I have read. The team I used to work for raced on the stock valve.......how bad can it be?

IDK about that Heat.

There's a difference between speaking the truth and being bias.

Next thing you know you ford guys will be telling us a 4.6 runs as good in trucks as a 4.8. Me and a bud (turboMach actually) had to pop the hood on a 4.6 truck once to check if it was actually a v8.......we both thought it was a v6 from driving it. TurboMach was actually ashamed at that point.

My Grandpa has a 2008 GMC with a 4.6 6 cyl and it does pretty good for it to be 100% stock. He got on it and outran a Dodge with the "Hemi".

That steaming pile of poop was probably a 5.4. I don't think they put a 4.6 in a 3/4 ton......If they did they didn't do it long.
