Bolt on F-bodies whoop up on Cobras and I'll give OVA this, He's proud of what he has and post his results to go along with his talk. You on the other hand.... Probably never been down the 1/4 mile me and Poppcacap have traded PM's about us running.....Hope to see you there

You'd take a GT500, which has a SLIGHT advantage in a straight line, over a car which beats it in EVERY OTHER COMPARISON?
You're BETTER THAN THIS?
Take a few minutes and figure out what it would cost you to best the GT500 in the straight line…
Then consider what it would cost you to get the GT500 to hold back from pushing out in the lateral, beyond 1.g … .
Another way to look at it, is that you COULD take the stock ZL1 and have it beating the GT500 in a straight line contest, in ONE DAY… .
I have no idea how long it would take to get the GT500 to come up to the ZL1 in the other dozen line-item considerations. But I think most would agree, that 'a day' is out…
As far as Ugly goes… I won't argue that, just suffice it to say that I disagree.
I haven't seen a Mustang that tickled my loins since the early 70s… . But that's all purely subjective and I leave everyone the same margin, with no points taken or added for disagreeing, on that.

Sometimes I wonder if you read what you type before you hit "Submit Reply," and if you bother to research anything you say. Yes the suspension on the 5th gen is better, it came out half a decade after the S197 platform was released. Nobody is arguing that. But the straightline difference between the GT500 and ZL1 is not "teeny tiny" by any stretch of the imagination. Unless you consider half a second and 8-10mph "teeny tiny." And the ZL1 is obviously the more composed of the two in the twisties thanks to great chassis development (not taking anything away from it), but "destroys" is not a word any smart person would use to describe the quantitative differences between the two. Slalom/skidpad numbers are nearly identical with the edge to the ZL1, and on a road course with any sort of straightaway they have traded victories. Is the ZL1 easier to drive on track? Absolutely. But as far as raw numbers go, the GT500 is right there with it. This is an example of fact, not opinion;

It is seriously hysterical how some will grasp onto the handling aspect with every fiber of their being, when before it was all about drag racing, street racing, roll racing, straight line ****. OH **** the GT500 is faster? Let's sound like we give a **** about handling now!

I saved the old man 4500 bucks.....My car went WAY faster the same weekend he should be thanking me. But off course I had a blower on my car so its not fair.

We were gonna try to find a track to do it on really but I'm in the Darlington Area (Tracks right here) so probably there. He said something about highway pulls as well which we would probably meet halfway for those.
