I understand that but this is not a race between big money grudge racers with deep pockets. If it was, the details would have been hashed out a week ago and both would have accepted terms before any date was set. I don't know of many grudge racers in the 11's. If they are, they are broke grudge racers.

$1500 a race is ridiculous. Just like coming out of thin air and saying that the three races have to be back to back or it is a forfeit. What if Lawhead said ova had to run on Friday the 13th or he forfeits? If this is going to happen then both have to come to an agreement on terms. One or the other can't make **** up and make the other adhere to it just because they say so.
I am really gettin' tired of attempts to paint this kid as a victim.
The race is MINE TO CALL! Period. There is absolutely NOTHING unreasonable about a best of three and to suggest otherwise is absurd. It's as simple as that….
The kid MIGHT have 5 minutes of seat time on the track, most of which is in 13 second rides. I'll put 20 bucks down that says he can't cough up sufficient slips to GET TO FIVE MINUTES. He's got virtually no chance in a manual car, on a heads up, single pass race in a vehicle with which he has some time.
Now suddenly he's running a 650wph, low 10 manual. He doesn't even know what that means, let alone how to effectively launch it. (Which is why he was wanting another week.)
I wouldn't race him on Friday the 13th if he were John Force's stand in… But at this point, I'm seriously calling it a 60-40 LIKELIHOOD that he ends up IN THE WALL! I am just hoping that it's NOT MY WALL… and that I'm not between him and that wall… I sure as HELL am not going to push that anti-miracle by racing on the Cosmic puss-sack of Friday the 13th.
Now until the news of the new car entered the discussion, I had not asked for any kind of wager. When he initially proposed a wager a few days ago, I told him to think it through. And sure enough… days LATER…
Lawhead confesses on his newly acquired car, informs the board that he will NOT be running the car thru which this WHOLE THING EVOLVED and in the process of hyping his new would-be advantage…
LAWHEAD MADE THE BET: It was HIS OFFER, which he had UPPED from my offer of 500 less than that. I simply accepted HIS OFFER.
What's more,
Lawhead PICKED THE DATE: From the posted track schedule. He KNEW that night was a NHRA Points event. I know he knew, because; First, ya can't read the schedule and miss it and second, I told him as much.
I have given this kid every opportunity to make a good decision… each time, he has decided to go another way…
He can either accept my most recent offer or forfeit… At this point I honestly do not give a dam'.

He thinks since I ragged on his car on the internet he's the one who gets to call all the rules to the race because it's HIS race......Orlando is Open sunday he said he might make it up there, Said he would race the following Friday , Now its back to Saturday.....Idek whats going on at this point

The whole 'the following Friday' thing, that came in just a hair under the report of your new car. And a gnats ***, before I did the math and realized that the following Friday was a day I don't do anything requiring the slightest luck…
While I initially found NO problem with moving it back, once I realized the date, I said I'd let ya know… THEN we got into the whole 'Oh yeah… I bought a faster car' thing, which informed me why you needed another week, so that scratched the extra week thing.
So here's where we are at present: You're down for $1500 a pass, for Next Saturday… (we can move it up to next Friday, the 6th, if that helps.)
Unless you follow the terms of my offer, which is written for your very own personal consideration. IF you choose to adopt those terms, execute the requirements of those terms, then I will relieve you of your self-imposed obligations and BY POPULAR DEMAND, give you the coveted ONE PASS Race, the outcome of which we will wager $500.
Which is a POTENTIAL net return of only $400, because I AM PAYING FOR YOUR HOTEL ROOM, as an encouragement to get you down here and stage up, so you can back up your smart mouth.
This despite you already having conceded, by default, that my Z was going to kick the crap out of your shiny lil' blue car…
So, accept and execute on my offer and we'll race a single pass Saturday (or Friday night, if you prefer…) for five bills.
Fail to do so and we'll race a best of three for $1500/pass on Saturday.
Your failure to show, with your money IN EITHER CIRCUMSTANCE will be a forfeit on your part.

Not putting him up as a victim. Just thinking that it might go a little smoother if both of you can come up with terms that are mutually agreed on. I don't care who wins but I would agree with what someone posted earlier that whoever loses can only respond with a two sentence response and then not be able to post anything for a certain amount of time.
My vote is that you two race for your wings, spoilers, or whatever the hell you want to call them. Would be worse than losing the cash if you ask me. It would be a trophy with a good story either way.
Edit: I didn't know this was your race to call. You can make him run on donut spares and if he refuses, you win. Easy enough.

Damn, wish we had more cars from around here ready and could just turn it into an SRK get together...seeing as the whole original race got beat to hell and back.
Edit: Maybe I'm just sensitive cuz I've been drinking. I shall revisit this post in the morning and douche-up as neccesary.

i do have to say OVA1 that whole 427zm warning to your posts had me rolling, you are definitely a smartass. which according to my wife is just like me.
i agree lawhead definitely made this "call out" completely ridiculous.
i say given the car swap and OVA1 still willing to race, you need to stfu and race him on his terms since you were playing like its ok to change cars last minute and how you were at a disadvantage in your old set up even though you called him out.
and hes paying for your hotel so theres no reason to not show up on whatever day he asks.
i only hope there is actually a race so this is over with.

I mean, The Sprout, thinking only of ME and how I didn't get any track time this weekend, offered, from the bottom of his shriveled little sack, to roll the race back a week.
Which I NEARLY agreed to, until I realized that the following Friday was the 13th… which gave reason for pause and instead I tell him that I'll have to get back to him… Right?
I mean it's all on the record… check it out for yourself.
Well… lo' and behold, the VERY NEXT MORNIN' we find out about the NEWER, FASTER, VASTLY more capable, Cammed, Headers, Whipple-Nippled Cobra.
Now… I ask you, would it have been 'bad luck' to have agreed to let the kid have an extra week to tune his skills and car and maybe add a spray kit on top of THAT?

Ya know… I've got this race comin' up and, well… I've been thinkin' about buying an 8 second ride for a WHILE NOW! You know… just sorta get out of the Z and get something that really says:
COMIN' THROUGH!.
There's gonna be some money on the line and frankly I'd be more comfortable in an 8 second ride that's already set up…
So, I'd like to 'buy' your car and run it down the short track this comin' Saturday. Maybe take it out for a test ride…
Oh sure, I've spent a month talkin' smack and hypin' up my Z, but since you've slammed the new record and all, havin' met your goals, and likely lookin' for something new to play with, it'd be just super to have something nice to take to the race.
