That is one cool event. I think next year we might ride up there to check it out. Looks like a blast.
But that chromed Shelby really knocked me out, I've thought about chroming my spoiler, but some say that that might be a tad over the top.

Of course, the good Lord would never allow me to own one, 'cause he knows that if he ever did, there'd be no livin' with me. > <

Nicely done man. I did a half mile event earlier in the year. Tons of fun and so much different than a quarter mile. I needed every bit of runoff to stop the car. That's the only sketchy thing about these half miles. Not sure if your experience was similar.

I have never done a two car half/mile run at an event but they look like a lot of fun. Nothing like staying MATTED that long.
..the stopping, I never had a problem in the cars I was driving at mile events in Florida but, the HALF mile event on the North West side of Florida,...the brake zone looks like it's barely there. In fact, all the big power cars seem to have problems stopping. That's why we have not mounted up with several cars to go to the event.
Hows this Heavens landing place for stopping? Looks like plenty.

To put my input, Wholy Smoke, I never thought stopping would be an issue, but it kinda was, in the GA case, the strip is one lane(sort to speak) and you only have about a 1/2 mile to stop.
On my first run I hit the brakes easy, as instructed, but didn't get on them real hard till i realized i was quickly running out of space. When i turned around and came back to the turn off point(right beyond the finish) to pick up my slip my car was smoking
At fisrt i said, is the car smoking? The guy said, just the drivers rear brake, Wheeeeewww, I smiled and said, it will be ok!!!
Now let cover taking off, the first run was terrible, I spun hard, let off and spun again, by my last run the spot was pretty clean but i still ran from a roll just in case.
