they put down around 330-340whp stock? My buddy has a 05' and has full bolt ons + cammed only thing he hasnt done is heads yet, and it dyno'd at 423whp.

But please enlighten me with your vast knowledge.

You do realize your car puts out LESS power in stock form than a 05 GTO right?

 

Please own one before you put the car down . My 05 goat ran pretty damn good for a heavier car. And with cam and heads these cars can put down close to 500 rwhp with the right cam doesn't seem shitty to me.

 

Im not putting the car down, i happen to like them. My point is thats a pretty big hp loss there, about double the drivetrain loss of an F-body, he wouldve probably hung with the mustang better had he that extra power, but those gears and the tires the 5.0 had didnt help the gto any.

 

There are plenty of vids of cammed ls2 goats beating full bolton 5.0s.

 

So whats this guys problem then?

98-99s rated at 305 to the crank, 00-02 at 310-320ish. Plenty of people making 270-285whp ish stock, depending on the car or dyno.

 

You've been misinformed, son. The LS1 came stock with a lot more than 305 crank hp. They were very underrated. It's the exact same engine that the 04 GTO has. And they are rated at 350 crank hp. An F-bodie's drivetrain is no better than a GTO's.

 

GTO doesn't run like I should but at the end of the day it got waxed.
