Let's not pretend they aren't econo boxes.
But as stated, it's an awesome bang for the buck.
I enjoyed hurting a lot of feelings in mine.
The engine and trans is so sweet I jumped right into the same platform with my hhr.
275/285 in a lightweight on pump hurts some feelings. Wait till we go e mix.
Lots of plastic and the usual creaks...but we have brembos, moonroof, easy tune, nice stock rims, ipod, etc etc....I'm so glad I didn't grab the caliber srt or wrx I was eyeballing

As an owner of both the V1 (who has driven multiple V2s) and a Solstice GXP (same LNF engine) I can see this happening. The LNF is an awesome powerplant and the lower weight is VERY noticable.

I helped build a few of the earlier ecotec motors,..from 380whp to over 500,..from compound boost to single GT35r setup.... the motor is more then capable of belting out in *** whooping in any platform it's in. The race does LOOK a **** hair weirdish but,..oh well. **** happens.

no magic E85
It's not just the E85 by itself; it's what the E85 allows you to do like run 25lbs of boost w/o blowing your engine into little tiny peices. The latent heat of evaporation (the energy used to evaporate the E85) has a profound cooling affect on the intake charges allowing more boost to safely be run and the turbo ecotech is factory engineered for a boosted life with as nearly as possible bullet proof reliability.
I agree it's a strech but not beyond the realm of possiblity remember this is a rolling start so wheel spin is not a factor for either car and the CTSV is quite a bit heaver. Plus the cobalt SS running we're told 25lbs of boost assuming no lose for intake charge heating 15psi is 1bar or doubling atmospheric pressure so in a perfect world the SS engine just doubled in size plus 10lbs. and factory rated at what 260hp or about? double that and your at 520. So you say it's not a perfect world; that's where the other 10lbs of boost come in. I say 520 is doable on E85. that combined with the light weight and rolling start; advantage cobalt SS. At the strip or a stoplight grand prix going with CTSV the cobalt would blow the tires away no doubt about. Just my thoughts AKA .
Still was there a round 2 and how did it turnout? Inquiring minds want to know.
